Hi!I am from Croatia.U should see Istra and Dalmatia if u want the sea.Dubrovnik is expensive but beautiful,and Brijuni also;u can't bath in Split but u can see historical stuff.Pula is nice,also Zadar.Islands like Hvar,Vis and Rab have great beaches but (except Hvar) are not very good for parties.If u like hiking,Velebit and Biokovo are great.There are national parks like Mljet,Kornati,Krka and especially Plitvicka jezera.

- Piltvice National Park (sp) (Waterfalls, Emerald Lakes)
- Split and its Islands (Hvar is the party Island)
- Coastal road down to Dubrovnic
Extras:
-Krka National Park or Palenkia National Park and Zadar
Hire a car if you want to zip places fast. Lonely Planet 2005 Guide has the best info and recomends the above as a 2 week trip I think.
