People say there are only three countries in North America. Canada,USA and Mexico. I beg to differ. Looking at any map of South America, I have come to the conclusion that South America begins at the border between Panama and Colombia. Or am I mistaken? Where does that leave central American countries such as Belize and Guatemala? Serious answers please. Thanks.

I'm 27, blonde, blue-eyed, and planning to explore Central America and the Caribbean next year. I'm wanting to go by myself, and plan to research the hell out of where I'm going and learn basic Spanish, but wondered if you had any thoughts or feedback about travelling as a single gal? I'm sticking to the relatively safe spots...starting in Costa Rica, then heading up to Cuba and then Belize. Any things I should definitely do (and not do) beyond the obvious common sense? Suggestions for timing? Thank you so much!

My husband has had several AVM surgeries and has had platinum coils placed in his head. His doctor said that "they shouldn't be a problem" But I am wondering if we should get some kind of letter anyways because I don't want to have trouble, or be late for our flight because "they should" be okay? Anyone have any experience with platinum implants and airport metal detectors?
