Think here: Chicago is in Central Time. I am in Indiana, so Eastern Time. It should be 9:57 in Indiana, but since DST, it is 10:57. So, in Chicago, it is 9:57.

Chicago is one hour behind Indiana. So if it's 9:30a there, it's 8:38a in Chicago.

This time of year chicago is central daylight savings time, not standard time. They are GMT-5 for DST and -6 for the rest of the year. Chicago is one hour earlier than east coast time(unless you are in an area which does not use daylight savings time), two hours later than pacific time
