I myself could not bear to leave this beautiful blue planet we call Earth. But....I am sure, and also hoping, that there are people to who would give their lives for the future of the human race. We as humans will not survive here on Earth forever. history will repeat itself, and nature will take back the planet. There have been many civilizations before us that we know existed, and then some that we do not know about. Either by a catastrophic storm of some kind, A meteor, Global warming, disease, whatever the case may be, but our time is limited here. That would be enough incentive to prepare a colony to the stars in search of a new home. As for myself, I am set in my way and have everything I need here. I have too much to leave behind to go, but if I had nothing to lose, no family here and I was alone, then I would be eager to go. But alas, I have too much to lose and nothing personally to gain. If I could take my friends and family with me-YES! I think the world is doomed and we're all going to die in the next 100 years or so and to colonize somewhere else would be the solution to keeping humanity alive! Random? Maybe....

It depends. Who will rule over this distant planet? What will the laws be? If it's anything like this one, NO. I think we have screwed up our own planet enough. Why go ruin others?
