Hello I am a runner who focuses mainly on the 400m, but sometimes I do the 200m or 100m. I was wondering if I improve my flexiblility, will I improve my speed? Right now I am kind of flexible ( I can touch my toes) but I'm not an olympian or anything. Does flexibilty affect speed?

I am 17, and about 6 feet tall and weigh a little under 150 pounds. and last time I checked about 8.5 % body fat.

I joined my schools track team last year and after just two weeks of training ran a 5:50 mile, 12:28 2-mile (that was last june). Over the summer I ran abt 2miles virtually every day and since september 1st I have logged about 170 miles, and am down to about a 5:25-5:30 mile (19:58 5k) but I think with my training and physical fitness I should be down even further. Id really like to run a 4:40 mile by the spring or summer (when track starts again)... A problem is that I also play basketball and that takes up 2 days out of my week...What should I do? Up my training more? Go on longer runs or more frequent ones...

i've ran distance like xc and mile,2mile, 5k's for a few years now. I think i want to try to take up sprints on track or hurdles though because distance isn't really working as great for me anymore. How do i go from being a distance runner to a sprinter?

I am 21, 5'10", 165/170lbs. I don't know if I'm especially fit as I have no idea what's average (I can't afford personal trainer/ gym membership) but would like to find out if I am average or not.

I run purely for enjoyment and to keep fit. I run at night along the main road out of town (it's safe and well lit up on the pavement). The route is 6 miles and it takes me about 30-45 minutes. I run steadily without pausing.

Is this OK- how can I improve if need be? Thanks!

I want to run cross country, but I want to get a good pair of shoes. I have Nike Shox, but I don't like them very much. I need shoes for trail running. There is some brand called Oasics or Basics or something. Could anyone give me a link? Thanks for the help.

I know Nike isn't a contender in the running shoe industry but what I'm asking is what is their top running shoe? Please don't give me comments about Air Max shoes. I just hate them. (DON'T ASK)

I am 14, and run a 21 min. 5k, my friend is 13, but pre-pubescent. His time was 26:24. The rest of his family are really good runners, and he runs a lot. Will his time improve with puberty? This an actual serious question.

I'm not the best runner in the world, but I'm in sixth grade and my mile time was 8:01. I weigh 99 pounds, and I get pretty tired running for a long period of time. Do I have time to get into shape before fall? What do you recommend for training? Thanks!

I'd like to dive (excuse the pun) into parkour a bit. I live in a suburban area, so obstacles are few and far between. It's winter now, so I'd like to do some indoor strength/endurance training until the sunnier days arrive. Any tips or suggestions? Anything you've got to suggest is appreciated.
