The "right" way for you to breathe is the way that allows your body to obtain and utilize the oxygen it needs and to eliminate the carbon dioxide and other gases it does not. Most people find it is ideal to have their breathing smooth, rhythmic and low in their belly, but everyone is unique, and when you are walking your body might want to breathe differently.
However, if your breathing is forced or if you feel you are gasping for air unless you breathe through your mouth, then might want to consider reducing your effort level (on at least some days) so that your breathing is more controlled. Controlled breathing is always more efficient for your body than sporadic or shallow breathing.

No. You always breath in through your nose, you can breath out through your mouth tho. The little hairs in your nose act as a filter, that's why it's important to always breath in through the nose.

Stop worrying about it and just breath. Breathing is something you have to do to live. Your body will know when you are not getting enough O2 and adjust all by itself.

If you need air, you should get it any way you can. It depends on how hard or fast you are walking
