can anybody tell me what the number one network for cell phones so i can change it to the best one.

Well, this really depends on the best service where you will make most of your phone calls. Ask friends and family who they use and how satisfied they are with the service, and consider using their carrier.
On another note, many seem to prefer Cingular, which is currently the number 1 provider in the states. Most people seem particularly happy with them.

Verizon is has the best nationwide coverage out of all the companies. They might not have the most subscribers (due to mergers and whathaveyou), but they have a large customer base. I'm always looking for the best deal and I've been reading the annual cell phone guide in consumer Reports magazine for the past three years. Verizon is always #1 in everything - customer service, coverage, plans, contracts, phones, etc.
Granted, I'm biased (I've been w/ them for 4 years) but I have no complaints.

well, since you put this under running, i'd have to say that sprint is the best network... haha just kidding, but i have sprint and i am quite happy with it
