Hunting - December 2007

just brought back a 30 odd 6 , and my husband wants to shoot a few rounds....not from this area, so we dont know much about where to shoot a few rounds.
should of shot some in PA, but didnt have time, anyone know of a place that we can shoot some rounds ?? were about 10 miles south of Myrtle Beach on the coast.

ok, i was just walking back from my garage about 50 feet from my house, and it is 9pm here in orland california, i was smoking my last for the night, and on my way back i heard an extreemly loud howl of a coyote, now there are more coyotes than humans here, and all i have is a 12 gauge, what are the odds ill get atacked at night walking like i just did, i am only 17 and dont want to die. can i kill the coyotes? or do i hide in my house like a puss? i feel bad to kill them, but if it needs to happe, or i can sell the pelt ill do it. what should i do?

I am asking for a new deer rifle this year for christmas, and I dont know what to get. I have heard that the 7mm-08 is a great round, but I also heard that the .270 is a great round (I am currently shooting a .243). What is your opinion on the right rifle for white-tailed deer for shots to at least 400 yards? A specific model would be appreciated. Thank you very much.

Ok I live in the the state of Virginia and to my understanding you have to be 212 to purchase a handgun and 18 to possess one. I am looking for a way to get a handgun, but being under 21 I can buy one....I found a website called gunbroker.com and it says that you can buy anything that you can legally own ( which in my case would be a handgun) so would it be illegal for me to get a gun off this website? (Gunbroker.com is similar to ebay but specificlly for firearms) I just want to know it I would be able to buy a handgun from there?

I always thought, and was told, that on any AR platform whether it be an AR-10, 15, etc that the charging handle does not come back when the rifle is fired. So when you pull the charging handle it engages and internal bolt system, however, in the newest issue of "Guns and Ammo" it has an article about AR-15 being super accurate and in the article the author talks about firing one of the new 450 Bushmasters and being hit in the lip with the charging handle when he fired the gun, and later talks about watching out for it when he fired an AR-15. So does the charging handle come back when ejecting each round?

I am looking for a shotgun that can do everything. I am willing to spend some money. But in doing this i want a shotgun not just for one specific thing. Is there a shotgun that i can duck hunt with, turkey hunt with, dove hunt, go goose hunting with and maybe even deer. Basically i want a shotgun that can hunt anything i want to. I saw this gun and was thinking of purchasing it. I want to make a good offer, but I can't seem to match the s/n to any of the models. The s/n starts wit a 68V (then just under that is a 5 digit #). I did not want to list the # for obvious reasons. It was made in Belgium and is in mint condition. It has magnum engraved on the outside of the chamber and I believe the barrell to be about 28 inches. It also has beautiful engraved patterns in the steel. It will fire 3" shells. Can anyone shed some light on this gun for me?

I am looking into reloading .45 ACP and want to save money by casting my own bullets. Will unjacketed lead jam a Rock Island Armory 1911A1?

Does anyone have any advice on cheap reloading? I am probably going to get a lead ladle and melt lead in it and pour it into a mold. I think I can get that equipment for under 35 dollars from Lee Precision.

Where is a good place to find free lead? Cheap lead?

Any other information I might need I don't even know enough to ask about?

What makes a .22 faster? i dont know if the word am looking for is faster

what make a .22 round faster? i keep finding .22 32gr to 60gr
is 60gr faster or slower?

and if 60gr is faster then why is a stinger only 32gr? am told stingers are the best faster harder hitting but why are they only 32gr??
