I have one I've owned for about 12 years now, in 308 Win caliber ( Model 81 Belgium made BLR). I have a Leupold 3-9 Power VX II on it right now. It's a great Deer rifle, and highly accurate..cycles like a dream. My only complaint is like Doc said. Browning has this annoying habit of finishing their stocks with a high gloss varathane finish that really reflects light. I wound up dulling the finish a bit on mine using some steel wool.YES, I realize that's sacrilegious, but I didn't need to signal the Deer I was hunting from a distance that I was heading in their direction....7-0 so far... I have a BLR in .358 Winchester. (It is a pre-Model 81 version made in 1978 by Miroku.) It is the most accurate rifle I've ever owned, and one of the most accurate I've ever shot. If I do my part, it will make five shot one hole groups at 100 meters and not much bigger at 200 meters.
I won't say the action is slicker than snot, but the more I use it, the slicker it gets.
My only criticism is the over-shiny finish Browning puts on the stock and forearm. I'd very much prefer a matte oil finish, but I just can't make myself strip it and refinish it. At least not until it accumulates enough dings and scratches that it starts to look bad.
Yes, I have a scope on it. It is not the best of scopes, it is a 3-9x44mm Simmons. One day, I will put a Leupold on it.

I had one for a short while in 7mm mag, very nice gun if a bit muzzle-heavy, took an elk at about 135 yards with iron sights, 2 quick rounds of 175gr. core-lokt put him down where he stood.
The action wasn't any stiffer than my .35 Marlin, and I definitely could get back on target quicker than with a bolt-action in the same calibre. Accuracy was only slightly less than most average bolt-actions, and equal to some, better than my pump-action .30-06.
Never scoped it, (nor the '06 pump for that matter), but hey, I'm weird that way. With a good scope on this gun, you won't lose many bets to the bolt-action blokes. And I actually liked the shiny wood, though the stock could be a bit heavier.

I don't have one but I have handled one a guy i hunt with owns. It is quite possible the most beautiful and best rifle in the entire camp, and he has had it for about 15 years. I highly recommend buying it. His is in .270, and he has a Banner scope on it because it has a illuminating cross-hair on it. The only thing wrong with it is that he had to put a hammer extender on it cuz the scope sat right over it, so it was hard to "let the hammer down" and so on.

A buddy of mine has one in .223. I functions great and is about as accurate as a good bolt action. He has a Leupold 3.5-10 scope. It's a lot of fun to shoot and has killed a lot of coyotes. It is a strong action chambered up to .300 Win. mag.
