I am looking for a shotgun that can do everything. I am willing to spend some money. But in doing this i want a shotgun not just for one specific thing. Is there a shotgun that i can duck hunt with, turkey hunt with, dove hunt, go goose hunting with and maybe even deer. Basically i want a shotgun that can hunt anything i want to. I am lookin at the Berretta Xtrema 2... any other suggestions?

Berretta makes some nice shotguns. My only issue with that model is with recommending an autoloader to a novice shotgunner. There's alot going on in those things.

Personally, like a lot of other people on this board, I'm a fan of the 870 series by Remmington.

They're simple, reliable, tons of parts and mods, not to mention that if anything does go wrong every gunsmith in the country knows how to work on them. Also, you can buy a huge variety of easily interchangeable barrels to let that one firearm serve all the hunting needs you have.
You can go fancy with the Wingmaster finish or cheaper with the express. Either way, I'd get one chambered for 3 inch magnum rounds to cover you on goose and turkey.

I do admit that a pump gun isn't choice for doves, but it will serve for right now. If you want a specialized dove/trap gun later, Then go for an autoloader after you know more about what you want.

One last thing, I'm not a big Mossberg fan as I think they rattle like hell.

A 3 1/2 inch 12 gauge auto is the most versatile shotgun you can buy, and the Xtrema 2 is the best of the bunch. I have a Browning Gold Stalker, which I do everything with, even sporting clays. There are also Benelli, Remington, Winchester and some others. I live in the Mississippi delta and know many people who duck hunt every day, and use their guns hard. Most bought the Benelli when it first came out, but lots of people had problems with them. Some bought Brownings. Since the Xtrema 2 came out, it has been their choice. Beretta makes a 686 Onyx over and under 3 1/2 inch. Then there are a few pumps single shots, etc. Buy the Extrema 2 and don't look back.

Either the Rem 870 or the Mossberg 500 (in 12ga.) with interchangeable barrels and choke-tubes. The 870 with its steel receiver can take more abuse, but the Mossberg has the edge in ease of clearing feed jams, as it lacks the feed ramp which on the 870 blocks ready access through the receiver bottom. The 870 is slightly heavier and can better absorb the recoil of heavy magnum loads, and has a smoother swing with its 28" barrel (which only matters if you are any kind of wing-shooter, I'm not). The Mossberg, being lighter, is quicker to point in a snap-shooting or defensive situation.

If I had to pick just one configuration and stick with it, I'd go with the Mossberg, 20" barrel with a modified choke

You have just described every one of the modern pump action shotguns, and most of the semi autos, although I prefer the more dependable pump action. I have used several from ithica to browning, but currently use either my mossberg (best value for the money) or my Remington 870, I have two barrels for each, a shorter 20" and a longer 26" to cover all my needs from self defense to long shots at high flying geese.

I like the Benelli Supernova. It's reasonably priced, and can shoot 2 3/4 to 3 1/2 inch shells. It comes in a variety of finishes, has a screw in choke system, and some models have an adjustable stock.

go with a benelli or a browning gold hunter,be sure and get a short barrel, like 24'' or 26''.I see people buying guns with long barrels all the time, but there is no need for one and you can swing alot faster with a short one.plus they are lighter.also go with a synthetic stock(lighter and more durable)
