I am considering refinish the coating and metal work for my gun, but don't know which kind of treatment is more durable. I am trying to find some local gun shops that do the refinishing and coatings. Which kind of finish is better? Bluing or Parkerizing? How about the price difference?
And, is all the coating the same? I don't want the paint to flake or wear off easily.

I only have two guns. but I have a 3yr old and a10 month old. I keep the guns up so high I can hardly get to them and I keep my shells and bullets hidden in a dif room. this has been working out well, till a class one sex offender moved next door. I now would like a place to keep all my stuff together but safe from the kids but easy for me to get to. I'm not a rich woman but willing to spend money on a great safe. just not sure what is best for a good price. any one that could help,i thank you tons.

I was cruising aroung the foothills outside Chico, CA today and saw a nice sized buck with a normal (about 18" tall) 3-point antler on the right and a miniature 3-point on the left. It didn't look broken, just 6" tall. I've never seen anything like it. Can anyone explain?

Watching a show like Band of Brothers, you see many instances where various soldiers are using a Thompson submachinegun to fire at the enemy across fields and such where it's very long ranges, over a hundred meters or more.

I was thinking that isn't this unrealistic? The .45ACP round is known as having very good stopping power in self-defence type circumstances where the range is short. But isn't it rather low in velocity and would have a very arced trajectory and lose it's power pretty fast with range?

I am considering getting a, Enfield style rifled musket. I know they were not and probably are not made in Enfield but that is OK. I am looking for a modern reproduction of one, or an original... whichever is less expensive.

What could I expect to pay for whichever is less expensive? How much are musket balls for it, minie balls? Where can I get percussion caps and are they very expensive? What about black powder? In all, how much should I expect to pay per shot?

(The Enfield is the rifled muzzle loader used by the Confederacy)
