How many pancakes can you fit in your doghouse?

My question makes as much sense as yours does, there are many different types of 9mm, they all hold different amounts of ammo.

Anywhere from 6 to 30 how's that.

A 9mm is a bullet, not a gun. Assuming you mean the best known 9mm (the 9x19mm also known as the 9mm Parabellum or the 9mm Luger) guns chambered in this caliber hold anywhere from one (specialized single shot pistols) to 33 with a the optional high capacity, aftermarket magazines available for some models.

The earlier 9mm pistols held seven to eight rounds. A Glock Model 17 holds ten, seventeen or nineteen rounds depending on which magazine comes with it.

Best.

15 in the magazine is pretty common. Ruger and Glock offer models with 15 round magazine capacity. 8 rounds is pretty common in single stack magazines, like the kind for the P-38.
There are also some after market magazines that hold upto 30 rounds that are made for quite a varitey of 9mm handguns.

Before you buy a 9mm you may want to check to make sure the higher capacity magazines are ok in your area. Some states limit you to 10 rounds.

Some states or local laws require that you buy a handgun with only 10 round magazines. Most 9mm's you can get with 15 - 17 rounds such as Glocks, Springfield Armory XDs, Berettas, Taurus', Rugers, Smith and Wesson. Para Ordnance makes one 1911 frame 9mm with 18 round mags. I believe that is the highest capacity mag you can get stock. I know you can by aftermarket mags for Glocks and Berettas that hold 30. All my firearms are 16 and 17 rounders. XDs and Berettas.

It depends on what kind of 9 it is. 9mm just means it shoots a 9mm bullet, but different brands make different kinds that hold all kinds of amounts. Do research to find one that fits you.

9mm come with 15 and 16 shot magazines, I have a Ruger P 95 DC that came with two 15 shot magazines and bought an after market magazine of 20 shots so mine has 21 shots.

It depends on the model and type of pistol but generally most will hold between 10-17 rounds with a standard clip. My personal favorite is the glock 17 which holds 17 rounds.

Magazine capacity varies from model to model, even of the same make. For example, the full size Glock model 17 holds 17, and the compact model 19 holds 15.
