I have 7.62x39mm right now and I want to get a big calibre rifle. I've shot my buddy's Browning A-Bolt .300 WSM and I love it! I was just wondering if there were any suggestions about any other types of rifles.

What kind of groups could I expect out of a cheap Remington 770 in 308 at 300 Yards, or farther, if I put a better scope on it? Or would it even be worth putting a decent scope on it?
I'm open to any suggestions for bolt-action rifles in 308 along that price range. I'm looking for accuracy on a very low budget.

I'm about to invest in a Glock 23, but I don't know which features to go with. I've never owned a gun before and I'm mainly purchasing the Glock as a carry/defense weapon, but I'd also like to do some recreational shooting, possibly competitive if I get into it. Fixed or adjustable sight? Night sight? Glock 23 or 23C (what's the difference? I know it's compensated, but for what?) Also, what are some thoughts on reloads - I've been reading about kB problems with Glocks using reloads - anybody had this happen?

I own a single-barrel shotgun. It was bought by my great-grandfather and passed onto my Grandpa and then finally to me. The stock is cracked, but the shotgun still fully works. I would like to know what kind of shotgun it is. The only markings on the rifle are found on the side of the action, it barely reads dware Co. St.Louis U.S.A. electrosteele barrel and has a square imprint that has a huge X in the middle and on the left side it has an I and on the right side it has the letter L. No numbers or anyother markings are found. I would like to know the make, year, model, and any information that will help me locate new parts and a stock for my shotgun. Thank You.

My son has an old rifle of my Dad's and the stock is in ill repair. The gun as a whole is very worn and all we can read on the gun is the end of the word hardware co, then IXL, then St Louis USA This appears inside a square on the side of the gun near it's hammer. We are trying to figure out it's manufacturer.

It was shells for a .38 special. It's a silver casing with a blue piece on the end that has bird shot in it. The end of the blue case is like the end of a shotshell where it breaks open to let the shot out?
Is this safe to fire? I probably won't because there are only 8 left now.

I just recently became interested in bow hunting.
Before I buy a bow, I would like to know:

1. What brand of bow did you decide to buy?
2. Why did you choose this particular bow?
3. Is there anything about technique that you can tell me?

It is a 16 gauge and although the bluing is fading its action is tight and the wood has no cracks or gouges and this gun is original with no refinishing. Used it for hunting until last year.

My last question was mistakingly removed.

I was not looking for appraisals on the two individual makes, but looking to purchase one.

Beretta Silver pig, or white onyx. 30" sporster
Or browning sportster.

I reside in kent, UK and licensed. Gun shops tend to want top money due to second hand guns being commission sales.

OK. I am trying to get a gun for the hubby for Christmas. We live in Alabama and he hunts in part woods to brush to open pastures. He wants a rifle for deer hunting. I have done a little research and have come up with either a 270 (don't know what brand) or a 30/06 (don't know what brand).

Can you please give me suggestions on what is the best gun or cheapest ammo or anything you can think of. Also brand recommendations are welcomed because I have no clue what I am doing!

He also has trouble with his shoulder and I don't know if "mega" kick would be good for him, but apparently guys don't really care, he just wants the gun and the kill.

Thanks!!!!
Jenni

I've been invited to go from MD to Massachusetts and spend some time at a friends house. I'm 16, and want to bring one of my guns to hunt/target shoot there, but I'm the only one who would go. Can I, being a minor, bring my firearm as luggage onto an airline?
