I beleive it will do just fine, but, is it a pistol scope? cuz you gotta have that long eye relief!!
Anyway, Tasco has come a long way in quality. They even made a scope for the US military.

As a current Dealer, I would have to disagree with RandyC. I sell a large number of scopes in my shops, and to be honest, I have yet to see a Tasco LER or Red Dot scope that could hold up under the recoil of a larger caliber pistol like a T/C Encore in 30-06 or anything above a .223 or larger caliber. I keep the latest and newer models in stock, but I don't recommend them for pistol mounting applications or use for magnum pistol calibers or larger rifle calibers either.
It's true that Tasco has come a long way, but they aren't there yet........Burris, Nikon,Leupold,Aimpoint are much better choices...

The few reloading manuals that feature the thompson claim that the 30-06 is severe recoil, they warn you that it kicks hard.
The better scopes for a Thompson are Burris from Colorado and Leupold & Stevens.
My recommendation is a Burris hunting scope.

No, they even break on muzzle loaders.

Every year at the sight in it happens to at least one person.
