Can a fly fishing rod be used for top-water jigs for freshwater? For small-mouth bass and other small-medium sized freshwater fish. Also for worms? Thanks a lot! And if you don't get what I am trying to ask (rephrase it) I will add more details.

Hey, i'm guessing since your on here you either own a gun shop, or were interested by the question, but either way your here and helpful information is a plus. I am 13 years old and i love hunting and guns. Im not a psycho with guns or anything, im pro guns and pro gun control. I have had the dream of owning a gun shop, because it is a job I would really really love because I would relate with the customers or others at the shop. I was wondering what kind of money it takes to start, what it takes to get a license, or what kind of license I need, what kind of schooling it takes. I plan straight out of highschool to join the army for a few years, i'm doing the 2 year enlistment to help with college and pass time, and keep myself out of trouble. Then when im 21 or 22 start my schooling and work on my license and gunsmith work to get ready for the shop. Any information would be helpful. Thanks in advance.~Silas

I can't say I have any 'practical' use for one, but it does look like fun.

I always seem to get loads of crap from these gun control freaks because I own 50 different guns. I am a hunter and I love to eat venison, rabbit, squirrels, pheasants, and ducks. I also like to go to the gun range for target practice. I keep my Smith & Wesson .44 magnum under my pillow at night, it's called protection against home invasion and I will use it. All of my guns are registered. I think that I have a constitutional right to bear arms and as many as I please. What do you all think, and how many of you are proud gun owners?

Winchester no longer makes the Winchoke. I've heard that Mossberg chokes will fit in place of a Winchoke. Are there any gunsmiths out there that could attest to this? I know I could get a Winchoke off of the internet but I'm not willing to pay the same price for shipping as I did for the product.

ILLINOIS: Cook County Considering Two Anti-Gun Proposals! There are currently two anti-gun ordinances taking aim at our Second Amendment rights in Cook County. First, the Safe Streets/Weapons Registration Ordinance requires the registration of all firearms and firearm owners in the county. As written, it is an outright gun ban and prohibits the transport of a firearm in your vehicle unless the firearm is "broken down in a nonfunctioning state." The other proposed ordinance would amend the county's "Deadly Weapon Dealers Ordinance" to completely ban all gun shows within the county, and prohibits federally licensed dealers from operating within 10 miles of another federally licensed dealer. There is currently no timetable set for when either will be taken up for consideration, so please contact the Cook County Board of Commissioners immediately and urge them to oppose these attacks on the Second Amendment.

I'm looking for a nice bolt-action. I went to Scheel's Sports last night and found a nice Stevens/Savage Arms .30-06 for around $350 and a couple smaller calibers for around the same price. All of them come with a package and all they really need is a final sight-in.

Is this a good deal? What should I consider for a first bolt-action and what kind of other informations?

Is it just the first shot taken from, say, a sniper rifle? And why is it supposedly so impressive to pull off a long range "cold bore" shot?

I have a nice CETME w/ a stainless receiver and (crappy) wide forearm stock set. Someone wants to trade me a FBI trade-in Sig 226 in 9mm and a Beretta 950 B S in .22 short for it. I really want the SIG, but I don't anything about the 950. What's it worth? Any good? Fair trade? How much does .22 short ammo cost?

Is it me, or does there seem to be a gremlin running around giving thumbs down to a lot of answers? I can see TDing the anti's answers, blatently wrong answers, spam, dumb answers (ie. Desert Eagle for CCW), and the like.

But it seems pretty normal to click a question and find every answer with at least a thumbs-down - and I mean good, accurate answers too. Is it out of spite, or what?

I'm all for making thumbs-down raters public. If you "star" a question, your name appears, I think the same should be done for TD's, if even for only the answerer to view. If you have the guts to rate it, you should have the guts to put your name to it.

I know I've never been messaged with the disagreement over an answer that got a TD. This IS supposed to be answers, so if I'm wrong I want to learn something new.

It doesn't bother me personally, but the blatent abuse is annoying. There's no reason to TD everyone's answer in a question.

Wondering if anyone else agrees?

Be Safe.

I'm looking for a 12 ga. autoloader. I mainly use 2 3/4" 7 1/2oz shells because i shoot clays and hunt dove and quail. I've been looking for a good autloader for under $900. I like the SX2/3 and the S&W 1020. But I dont know if the SX2/3 will cycle the 2 3/4. Please tell me if you can. Also, which would you prefer? Is there anything better in this price range that is all-purpose and isn't a Mossberg?
