I always seem to get loads of crap from these gun control freaks because I own 50 different guns. I am a hunter and I love to eat venison, rabbit, squirrels, pheasants, and ducks. I also like to go to the gun range for target practice. I keep my Smith & Wesson .44 magnum under my pillow at night, it's called protection against home invasion and I will use it. All of my guns are registered. I think that I have a constitutional right to bear arms and as many as I please. What do you all think, and how many of you are proud gun owners?

Snooks, if you had read the question carefully you would have noticed that I do not just hunt for the sport, I eat everything that I kill.

My Daddy kept a .38 Special under his mattress within each reach and he was a peaceful man. In his day it was considered an excessively big gun. In the small community where we lived everybody knew that old man had a Big, big gun. Nobody bothers a man with a gun. That old .38 kept the wolf away and we NEVER had any problems with unwanted night callers.

No, there's nothing wrong with being a gun owner. Fear is the only reason there are those who want to outlaw guns. The question we have to ask them is this: "What are you afraid of, that we can defend ourselves? Who are you afraid that we are going to defend ourselves from?"

And to him with "his head in the clouds," the 2nd. Amendment Right was not about invasion from Britain; it was to protect us from ANY threat, domestic or foreign. AND self-preservation IS a God given right.

A .44 Magnum is good insurance against man, or beast or things that go bump in the night. Soon I'll the proud owner of .50 GI equipped with night-sights and that will be added to my small collection of nightstand guns. I hope to die peacefully of old age and God and my guns will help me achieve that goal. Anyone who tries to take my guns is an enemy in spite of any good intentions that he or she may profess.

Best.

There is nothing wrong with being a safe responsible gun owner. The problem is this. There are lots of lies going around from both sides, because the anti-gun side believe things that the NRA has said in the past, they don't understand guns, the NRA exaggerates and what not because they don't want to see the 2A diminished, but by doing so, it is going that way. Shelly parker v. DC is a classic example of two sides both talking rubbish on the second amendment, if they knew what they were talking about, there might be less problems.

If you think you have a constitutional right to have guns then why do you have to register them or why did you register them? I would hope it was because you live in a state that required it not that you did it on your own.
Those that say you have too many guns do not know about gun collecting. I have many more guns than you do as I have been collecting guns since the 1960's. Most all of my guns have doubled and some tripled and others gone up by 1000 % in value. Those of course I do not shoot. They are someday part of my retirement fund. But with 4 boys and two girls in the house that go shooting with me we need a lot of guns. And I teach Hunter Safety classes so need about 35 or so guns for the classes. Our family goes to the range for target practice and fun shooting. We also hunt for food for our table. I guess you could say we are a whole family of proud gun owners. (my pretty daughters have guns they carry too)

There is nothing wrong with owning guns, as long as you know how to handle and use them responsibly. I love to hunt and go target shooting as well. But I only have a Marlin 30-30 lever and a Break action 20 gauge cuz I don't have that much money. But your right, you have the right to own them and the right to protect yourself, family, and others. I believe there is a law that says if you see somebody being harmed you have to help them, and with the way criminals are now I'd feel safer knowing I had a gun on me. But I think people give you crap because they don't know anything about guns. All they know is what they see on the news, that guns=killing. Plus people tend to fear what they don't know. But it's up to the gun owners to protect them from criminals, foreign invasions, and tyrant governments. So I say unto you "Yes I am a Proud gun owner" and I plan on taking a CCW class this summer so that I can conceal and carry.

There is nothing wrong with owning that many guns. like i say "you can never have too many guns" me I own a .50 caliber, a 30-30 winchester, 2 muzzle loaders, 4 different shotguns all 12 gauge and I absolutely love them all. As long as you don't go pointing them at random people then you should be fine. Word of warning try to scare away any intruders because if you shoot him you might get a murder charge my dad got in trouble for self defense with a gun.

Of course there's a serious problem with being a gun owner:
It's addicting. Why am I convinced that I need that new deer rifle, when I have over a dozen already? And that 416 Rigby, when I'll probably never see Africa? Why isn't just a couple of twelve-bore side-by-sides adequate? I can't help myself.

I agree with you 100%, I am only 14 years old but have quite a collection myself; all that I have I bought and earned myself. I have all around 7 guns and am on my way to one this Christmas (this first one I won't have to buy!) I know the combination to the gun safe. Does this mean I'm gonna do something stupid with it? NO. It's just another collection, such as coins, but much funner. I think those who are against guns have never actually shot one to see how fun they are. And to the person who said: "a .44 means you are shooting to kill, not protect yourself." Last time I checked that was protecting yourself; shooting to make sure the bad person doesn't get back up and cause harm.

There is much to fear from gun owners in the eyes of freaks, criminals, tyrants, cowards and anyone else who is fully dependent and jealous of those of us who aren't.

For those who are free, there is nothing wrong with being a gun owner.

Nothing wrong with it. Obviously your gonna get heckled by the Anti's on Y/A. The Anti's see gun related crime etc. on the news so they automatically assume gun = bad and every gun owner has a vendetta.
