I have a nice CETME w/ a stainless receiver and (crappy) wide forearm stock set. Someone wants to trade me a FBI trade-in Sig 226 in 9mm and a Beretta 950 B S in .22 short for it. I really want the SIG, but I don't anything about the 950. What's it worth? Any good? Fair trade? How much does .22 short ammo cost?

I would keep the CETME. I personaly think you are getting the raw end of the deal on that one.

I sig trade in from teh FBI. Most of the LEO i have met are not gun nuts like some of us on here. They do the basics and nothing more as far as maintance and cleaning.

My personal opinion is that every CETME I have handled was rough, poor quality and not a well made firearm. I have not seen one yet that I would depend on for survival. The sig is of course a very well made pistol even if it is only a 9mm LOL
The Beretta 950 rates an "it's ok" from me, meaning I could take it or leave it. Many of them had problems with failure to fire and the safety is really hard to engage on many of them. Seems like it was hit or miss. Values run from $150 up, but they just aren't that great a pistol. And as for .22 short, I'd rather throw a rock at somebody than shoot them with a .22 short. The only way I wopuld in fact shoot a person in self defense with a .22 short, would be if I could place the barrel against the persons head and hope the gas and pressure killed them, cuz the slug probably won't. So, I'd base the trade on the sig alone. I don't know what the Cetme cost you, so I can't say if it is a good trade for the sig and the beretta in your case.

You might want to keep the CETME and put a better forearm/stock set on it. The Beretta is an okay pistol, but if you are using it for concealed carry you would be better off with a Seecamp .32, if you can get one, or a .22LR or .25Auto if you can't. Personally, I don't think a used P-226 and a Beretta .22 Short are a good trade for the CETME if the CETME shoots well, but that's just my opinion.
