ILLINOIS: Cook County Considering Two Anti-Gun Proposals! There are currently two anti-gun ordinances taking aim at our Second Amendment rights in Cook County. First, the Safe Streets/Weapons Registration Ordinance requires the registration of all firearms and firearm owners in the county. As written, it is an outright gun ban and prohibits the transport of a firearm in your vehicle unless the firearm is "broken down in a nonfunctioning state." The other proposed ordinance would amend the county's "Deadly Weapon Dealers Ordinance" to completely ban all gun shows within the county, and prohibits federally licensed dealers from operating within 10 miles of another federally licensed dealer. There is currently no timetable set for when either will be taken up for consideration, so please contact the Cook County Board of Commissioners immediately and urge them to oppose these attacks on the Second Amendment.

My question....What will this do? I mean I almost want them to make all this "law" so that when the streets do not get cleaned up and people still get shot it will prove that this only effects legal, reponsible owners.

Ridiculous!
What really burns me is that Cook county is trying to regulate "Federal" license holders.
I have hopes that the Supreme Court will uphold the federal court ruling that declares un-Constitutional the Washington D.C. gun laws in 2008.....but prepare for anything.

You won't be able to put a lien on their property. If you were a licensed tradesman (contractor, plumber, electrician, carpenter or mason) and had they had hired you to perform work on their property, you could file a mechanic's lien. As that's not the case, you have no claim against their property. You should have taken back a 2nd mortgage on their home as security for the loan, but it's too late to do that now. Lesson learned! Did you get the loan agreement in writing? If not, it may already be too late to do anything about it if you have not been collecting regular payments on the loan -- or at least something within the past 5 years. IL law limits oral agreements to 5 years from the last activity. If you have a written agreement, you have 10 years to collect on it. To collect on it, since she is refusing (or unable) to pay, you'll have to sue. Her husband probably has no legal obligation to repay the loan since you gave it only to her; it matters not what she did with the money. Assuming that you get a judgment and force the sale of the home to satisfy the judgment, the money will come from her proceeds from the sale. Consult with a licensed attorney in your area for guidance specific to your situation.

Don't wish that. Washington, D.C. has prohibited firearms for the last 2 or 3 decades, and they always lead the nation in murder rates.

Sounds like a safe haven for libretards and career criminals. I'll bet they have a lawyers office and a bail bondsman on every corner, like most conservative communities have churches.
the ship is sinking, find a life raft to get in, like anywhere else (except New Jersey- they love their criminals)
