Being "against guns" [against the lawful ownership of] is akin to being against the US Constitution and Bill of Rights, against America itself and the fundamental right to self-defense, National-defense, self-reliance [hunting], and recreation [target shooting].

The right to keep and bear arms is a basic fundamental cornerstone of ALL our rights, freedom, liberty, and security.

Blaming guns for a criminal problem, is like blaming spoons for obesity. If guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns - and they will take every advantage over "sheeple" as they already do - preying on unsuspecting, undefended victims. The "GUN FREE ZONE" signs just scream to criminals "come here and commit crime without possible consequence".

Notice, you never hear of someone attacking a police station, or gun club or gun store. Why you might wonder? Well, what kind of nutcase criminal is going to commit an act, where at the first sign of illegal activity in which innocent life is in danger, several firearms will be trained on him to stop the crime in the act? Criminals and tyrants prey on the weak and defenseless.

I don't mind people having a personal objection to owning a firearm in their home. They have that right to choose. But anyone that objects to lawful, sane, citizens owning and bearing arms, I take offense to - its not their business to work to surpress the fundamental right to self-defense, and the Constitutional right to keep and bear arms.

I spend 3 months out of the year doing nothing but hunting(Aside from those horrible days I have to work =p) and I own about 25 guns. I would never support anything that was against guns, simply due to the fact that it's pointless.

If you're a competent person, your guns are locked when you're not using them(even if it's just because you don't want them stolen) or you at least have gun locks on them. Getting rid of guns for the common man is not going to stop crime, because criminals will always have black market weapons. I don't think I should have to stop hunting because people are afraid of getting shot by a criminal.

Like everyone says, guns don't kill people, morons kill people. It's just as easy to shoot someone as it is to run them over.

I am completely in favor a gun ownership by law-abiding citizens. It is our right.

In the states that have "shall issue" concealed carry laws, the violent crime rates have plummeted. The thing a wolf fears most is a wolf that looks like a sheep. If a criminal can't tell whether or not you are armed, he is likely to pick a different victim. As the CRPA says, "Society is safer when criminals don't know who is armed."

I am for NON CRIMINALS having guns
I have a number of guns ( rifles, shotguns & pistols ) in my home & they are all loaded, at all times, other than when i am cleaning them.
The reason that i keep them loaded, is if i ever need 1 of them in a hurry, i don't have to remove the gun lock , then get the ammunition , then have to load the weapoon, before i can use it for anything other than a club, for which a gun, isn't designed to be used as.
anyone that thinks that having loaded guns in my house is dangerous, need not try to steal from or harm
anyone in my house or on my property, else they find out, just how dangerous a loaded weapon can be.
now, i just hope the people at yahoo answers, don't feel that i have violated community standards with my answer

Omaha mall? Two Colorado church groups? Columbine? Mc Donald massacre? The thing all these victims had in common was they didn't carry guns. In each and every case the criminal was finally stopped with a gun. Under gun control, only criminals will have guns!

Everyone should exercise their Constitutional Right to keep and bear arms particularly in these troubled times. Felons have pretty well forfeited those rights & non-gun persons should take the safety course first.

Unless you can afford armed body guards 24-7, or unless you are fortunate enough to have such an arrangement by virtue of your political affilations, courtesy of our tax dollars (like the Prez, ex-Pres, spouse of same, etc.) you need to be able to protect yourself. Fear is the only reason those who wish to erode your 2nd. Ammendment Rights have for wanting to disarm you. You have to ask why someone would want to strip you of your ability to protect yourself. Is it about gun control, or is it about total control?

Why should a government fear its own citizens? Why should a citizen fear its own government? Think about it.

Best.

I Love guns! Gun controll is the least effective idea in crime prevention I have ever heard of. If guns were banned, only criminals would have them..... that and the government.... but then again the government and criminals are one in the same
