I'm looking for a new pistol to shoot some paper with. I would prefer the caliber to be atleast a 9mm. I already own a baby eagle in 9mm so I was wanting another one. I don't want a .22 as I already have too many of them. The price range I'm going from is $550 and under. I have been looking at Glocks such as the 19 and 21. I would also like a pistol that's not a cz or a clone since I've already got one. Any suggestions as to what I should get? The Glock is looking extremely appealing seeing how many accessories there are.

If so, have you ever caught anything on it? I recently got a shad and sunfish version of this lure, are these types any good and for what types of fish?

Does this pay well as a side job.... I was thinking I could by something around 26-31 feet. What training and classes do you have to do for this? Also do you receive a lot of business?

I am liking the idea of a T3 Stainless Lite at 6.3lbs. for my elk hunt next fall, but am wondering about the 308 as a good all around caliber. Is it enough? I will handload and would like to reach out to at least 300 yards if I have to. I can get a 300 win mag, but at only 6.6lbs it would be a bear to shoot. The '06 at 6.3lbs is another option, but would also kick more than the 308 and how much would I gain in practical field performance? If I ever draw a big bear tag, I would get a 338 or a 375, so moose would be the largest animal that this gun would be used for. Any handload recipes are welcome. I am thinking of a tough 165 grain bullet at 2780fps. Velocity really drops off with the 180 grainers or bigger in this caliber..that is one area that the '06 has the advantage(the only one in my opinion). Thanks in advance, everyone.

We will be camping at a lake, where we can drive to. So no hiking involved. We will take our boat and hope to catch some trout, but no guarantees. Closest little settlement for food and petrol will be one hour away. Because of summer holidays, hunting is not allowed.

What would be a good rifle scope for a Ruger m77 mkii compact? I'm looking for something within the $150-175 range, preferabally a 3-9 power.

I've seen posts that specified that you had to be over 21 to buy pistols or pistol ammo. It's been a LONG time since I was anywhere near that age, and I wasn't into firearms at the time, so I didn't know anything about that.

Ruger makes a Blackhawk that shoots .30 carbine, and some of the big bore handguns use calibers that are normally rifle shells. If an 18-year old buys those shells, how do the authorities know it's NOT for a handgun?

There are long arms that shoot .44 mag, which I think is classified as handgun ammo. Ditto on .38 special and .357 magnum. Does that mean an 18-year-old who owns one of those long arms can't legally buy ammo for it?

Just how are the rules about handgun/long arms ammo determined, anyway?

This whole thing seems illogical to me - not that there is much logic applied in gun laws, anyway.

Can anyone give me some facts here?

O.k. bullet can be confusing

Do we really need to correct silencer? nobody thinks a suppressor makes a gun silent. Furthermore I find the term silencer clearer than suppressor. Sound suppressor? Flash suppressor? Suppressor manufacturers call them silencers. Jeez give it a rest

If someone says he has a 15 round clip for his Glock are you really confused by what he is talking about? What good does it do to correct the guy?

I read one answer where someone asked about a 22-250 rifle. One reply was was that the 22-250 was a caliber not a rifle. Why do that even if you are correct (cartridge not caliber)

Dope, rimfire, breach, striker fired, primer, case, extractor, parallax, weaver style, double action, etc. are intimidating to new people. Do you want to add hair-splitting as another burden to shooting?

My question is: if everyone knows what someone is talking about why correct them? Or at least why correct them and add nothing helpful?

I'm from Arizona and I've been coyote hunting quite a bit the past years. I'm using just a cheap .22 and it's not doing all that great of a job. I've been looking at some of the ar-15 styles and the Ruger Mini-14. I don't know what caliber to buy either. I can't decide between .308 or .223.

What's the best caliber for this type of hunting?
What's the better rifle (AR-15 or Mini-14)?
If I get an AR, what's the best scope to use?

i'm hunting by a food plot about the size of a football. there are two logging roads that connect to the plot, that is the only way to get the plot. there are lots and lots of fresh track in and all around the plot. there is a small creek about 250 yds away with running water. i position myself at the back of the plot so that i can cover and can see down both roads. or i move to the other side of the plot which ever position is down wind of where the deer come in and out. i still hunt from daylight to about 10 am then start stalking. i'm seeing all these signs but have yet to see a deer. how would you hunt this area. any advise i could try

I am looking to buy a good rifle when I turn 18 so I can get some practice in before I join the marines after high school is over. I want something I can use on the range or maybe even hunting or at least protection while I'm campin out in the forest. all I have now is a survival knife. any thoughts? I prefer a carbine but a bolt action would work too I suppose.
