Just about any .22 caliber rife that is on the market, is accurate enough for head shots on squirrels.
The person squeezing
the trigger, is an entirely different thing.
with lots of practice, almost anyone can get good enough, to constantly make head shots.
That being said, NOW, you have to convince the squirrels, to be still, till after the trigger is depressed.

For the best accuracy that I have seen in a hunting .22LR, check out the rifles from Cooper Arms. If those are too pricey, you might look at Kimber, or Marlin if you want to spend even less.

If you can find one I have a model 190 Winchester that I've shot my own bullet holes with.It's a semiautomatic. A very accurate little rifle. And it will shoot as fast as you pull the trigger.

i use a browning 22 lever action, this is the most accurate weapon i have 1 inch groups at 75 yards,good shooting.
