I use the .17HMR for squirrel hunting 50 yards and out. I always make head shots. Very effective without hurting the meat.

It is great for squirrels, but only if you can make a head shot. Otherwise, you can waste a lot of meat, which there is little enough already.

You might be better served, using a .22 caliber rifle ( not a pellet rifle ) or a .410 shotgun.

why to much power, 410 or 22 even one of the stronger powered air guns would work great good shooting.
