I have no problems with hunting or eating meat. I know that even with a rifle, it is very difficult but it is possible. Real hunters use a bow.

I'm just a regular graduate student living in southern california..
just came to my mind about climbing the mt Everest...
but I have no clue on how I should start preparing myself.

I know it would take me many years to prepare for such a grand advanture but would like to know how I should go about preparing it.
Maybe a local mountain hiking would start me off? I have no clue.

So please share the knowledge~

Do you think a 12 gauge in #6 shot is still the best bet or get something like a .357sig or 9mm?

The .17 HMR is cheaper and overall the have comparable performances. The .204 ruger is clearly better past 200 yards though.

Considering the are both relatively new rounds and you had to pick one of these two rounds which one would you go for?

So far I have to get or have: hiking boots, orange vest, the gun will be provided. What else should a person bring that is interested in hunting but not 100 percent if it will be for HER.

I got a hi point carbine in winter of 2006. in 2007 (still winter) i got some rounds for it. 3 to 4 months after that the weather got good enough to go out and fire it. me and some friends went out and fired it. 2 rounds out of this 50 round box i got jammend. turns out the friends i was with who are more knolwgable than me told me the rounds i bought were reloads. so i got home took the slugs out and burned the gun powder. but i still have the primers to worry about.

I realize there's enormous controversy over handgun gauge preferences and that placement is generally considered the most important factor in self-defense, but I still have a simple question: Is a 9 mm sufficient for defense?

In other words, is it reliable to quickly put down any attacker? I am on the smaller side and require a handgun that can reliably protect me against assailants who may be the size of a linebacker for example.

Is there reason that a larger gauge may be more effective for self-defense?

Thanks.

Someone sent that to me. I remind you to be respectful, and bring up all the points why hunting and hunters are beneficial for the environment, why you hunt (not to "prove manhood"), and how you use the meat, hide, etc..

There are a lot of ignorant people out there - lets educate them.

I inherited a Winchester model 12 shotgun. It is 16 guage. It is in very good condition, minimal blueing. The serial numbers all match and it hasn't been fired in about 20 years. It has been oiled and stored correctly. It was made in 1937. I have seen people tryint to get old ones of these. Why? Why are they so special? What makes them so cool? Why are the older ones more expensive and coveted? Anyone know about how much they are worth? I am not looking to sell it, I am just curious. Thanks for your help!

what gun would you buy? the gun can't be a $1048 gun because it has to total this much inlcluding taxes and backround checks, and of course you want plenty of ammo to break it in.

this is the money that i dont have to save away from my summer job.

Just wondering what you would buy, give three answers if you want: pistol, rifle, and shotgun

I was invited to go hunting this fall by a friend up where he lives. I was out of hunting for a few years because where I live now isn't so hot for it. Most of my guns are back home before I moved out of the house. All I have on me now is an open-site WWII Mauser and a Ruger .22. It's been very dependable and accurate for plink-shooting, but it may be all I will have to take with me.
