I wouldn't go with boots at all. Better to go with a light shoe that drains water quickly but still protects your feet and buy a pair of ankle gaitors to help keep gunk from getting in them. Go online and look for Adventure Racing shoes, Salomon and Merrell are a couple of brand names that come to mind.

Since there is nothing to be done about getting wet feet, you can prevent blisters by using a product called Hydropel. It's pricing but worth every penny. Rub it into your feet the night before and again before you put on your shoes and go into the swamp.
