I am in the market for a handgun, a used one is fine since it will be my first to own. I came across a J.A. Nine 9mm for $145.00, and I was wondering if it is worth it to purchase. And I was wondering how it ranks on the list of handguns manufactured.

I was shooting my slingshot into a tree where there where starlings and then one "flew" away but actually glided to the ground and when i went to pick it up it glided to my neighbors junk yard where i caught it. I threw it up into the air but it again glided. Then when I threw it up again it flew to another tree with flapping it wings. I examined it and didn't see anything wrong. Do you think it will be okay? what's your view on this

I am torn between getting a Stoeger Cougar 8000 in 9mm and buying a Glock 20 in 10mm. The gun will mostly serve as home defense and a "just for fun" gun. The 9mm is a very cheap round and the cougar is an inexpensive pistol, whereas the the Glock costs a little bit more and the ammo is fairly expensive. I am open to reloading to fray the cost of the 10mm. On that same note does anyone know how it costs per cartridge to reload 10mm. Ive had good reviews on both pistols, but I still cant decide.

When you use a bullet weight are you supposed to tie the weight on or just let it sit on the line on top of the bait so it would be able to slide up and down on the line ?

I'm thinking of this in a project with the 7.62 x 39 caliber. I will be shooting standard factory loads. I may use Winchester as they seem to be the most available in name brand.

What are your thoughts on the 338 Lapua, the 300 RUM, and 6.5-284? I want to build a heavy bolt rifle and need to decide on what to chamber it in. I think I'm addicted to bullets with high BC's, and these three rounds hold my interest the most. The use of the rifle would be for paper targets, coyotes, and elk.

Good day. Came across comments from various gun site and magazine describing a pistol as "good out of the box." Generally, does it mean that some pistols are not safe to use or would require modification prior first use?

Thank you.

I realize there are usually routes up a mountain that can be harder or easier but I only want to include the easiest route up each mountain in Colorado in this determination of difficulty. In my opinion difficulty includes exposer, amount of technical climbing skills needed to climb, and its ranking in the Yosemite Decimal System. It does NOT include total distance and elevation gained. So by using my definition of difficulty what is the hardest 14er in Colorado?

im a girl, kinda small frame, 130 lbs, 5' 5"- and have never before fired a gun. this gun will be primarily for self protection, so i want something with real stopping power, as i am home alone for long stretched while hubbys on the road, and lets face it, insurance can only protect so much.

Is it really pointless to have a powerful, short-barreled revolver? I'm talking more around the 454 Casull, 460 S&W. How much velocity is lost when these calibers are used with 4-5 inch barrels as opposed to 6.5in+
