Coleman lanterns use different fuels. Most use 'white gas' and not propane. If you have a PROPANE lantern, and the connections are identical for using your propane tank, then yes, you can use it. However, if the connections do not match, do not try to make it work. It is obvious that the two are not compatible.'

not sure what you mean by "bulk propane tank"???
but if you are talking about the small (5 gallonish) tanks like used on a gas grill??? the answer is yes, there are adapters that screw onto the tank valve outlet that you can inturn screw the coleman lantern onto similiar to screwing the small coleman bottle on.
of course that is if your coleman lantern is the type that uses the propane instead of the liquid coleman fuel...

Sure, the lantern is sitting there...gasping for some fuel, and here comes a pipe from either a small or large container, and piping in some "food"/fuel.
If you're using this indoors, make sure about the ventilation.
