The old sayin', "Ain't nothin' illegal until ya' get caught". What I don't understand is why not buy a license like everyone else, that way when ya' ain't on private property your fanny is covered!? Sorry, but at times I just do not know how other peoples minds work...

In my state it is not illegal as long as you own the land that you are fishing on or if you get permission to fish in the area you are fishing. Best thing to do although is check with your state's fish and wildlife commission to see if it is illegal in you'r state.

Yes it is very illegal to fish anywhere without a license. It doesnt matter if it is public or private .

The chances of a warden coming to private property to check you for a license is very slim.

In most states, i have the magazine right in front of me. You can not trespass onto someone else's prive land and fish, obviously, that is trespassing. Yet, if you own land let's say in Oklahoma, but your house and where you live is in texas. Then you still have to have a fishing license to fish on your land in oklahoma. You have to actually LIVE on your land that you are fishing. Now to be honest, will they ever come to your land and find you there, i highly doubt it. Yet, that's what the rules say!

To be on the safe side, call your local DNR office to see what your state's laws are. Supposedly, the DNR is the boss over ALL inland lakes. Getting a fine by your local ranger is expensive. <*)))><

its not illegal if the private property is yours or a friend's. But if it's some strangers, yeah I bet it's illegal.
