I think its about time that some sort of technology was brought in to avoid teams losing out due to bad refereeing. What happened to the goal-line technology we heard so much about before the world cup? The France game the other night highlights just how much this is needed. Its ridiculous that we still rely on human judgment for such matters.
As for video replays, obviously it would have to be instant, and the amount of times a team could challenge the referees call would have to be restricted, perhaps until the ref decides they are wrong, to avoid the game stopping every 20 seconds. Im sick of seeing goals flagged offside when they arent, and vice versa. Or red cards for no reason. Just ask the Spain team of 4 years ago how much they would have liked to have had video replays in that match against S. Korea, and countless other teams who this has ever happened to.
So the question is, When is Mr Blatter going to get his act together and introduce something like this??

With the FIFA world cup around, I see people arguing on offside, and creating their own rule.

There is nothing I hate most than seeing a CHEAT get away with it and nothing more GRATIFYING than seeing a cheat NOT get away with it. That is why I am an advocate of CAMERAS being used in football to decide such things. Fortunately the referee was near and saw that cheat and sent him off. WHAT A DIVE !! That the Mexicans needed to cheat to win against a Portugal side composed only of SUBSTITUTES as the Portugal FIVE stars, yes five of them, did not play because they were on yellow cards!! ?? My question is this... Do you think cameras should be introduced to football to decide such things as dives, ie cheating, wrongly given penalties, etc ????

Portugal won all of their matches and topped group D with 9 points. Also, they weren't playing 5 of their key players in the Mexico game (and they still won!!!).

Whether Portugal faces Argentina or Netherlands (depending on todays match), I think they're gonna win because they're finally pulling through with their quality and determination....It's time to break this 40 year curse!!!

what do you think?

Don`t tell me that it`s because of Maradona`s goal, please... Remember that after that goal there was another one during the same match which is considered the best goal in a World Cup ever.

Own-Goal is one of the most unintended human errors. Its after-effects are very traumatizing. It can remain a permanent bad memory and can befall even the best player. It is the most undeserved opportunity for the other side. Therefore, the penalty kick could give the attacking side a genuine chance to score.

I dont understand, in the World cup, can you play for a country if you have spent most of your life there? But were born in another country? Or do you have to play for the country you were born in?

For example, a man is born in Australia but moves away to England when he is 5 years old. He starts playing soccer there, and then at age 22 is good enough for the world cup. Can he play for England? or does he have to play for Australia?
