Football - June 2006

My fiance has me watching it and man is it alot to get into. His mom is from Spain and his dad is from Argentina. I am a beautiful nubian queen (hahahahaha) and this is my second world cup. Man this is some serious business to them but for me I just try to watch one game a day with him to show support..

I have heard on the news (romanian ones) that the viola have offered juve 7 million euros for mutu and that AC has one upped them and offered 7.5. Has anyone else heard of these rumours?

I am just curious as to what the fascination is. I have never followed soccer as it is not a big sport in America. It seems like people are really into it this year. Either that or I am noticing for the first time that people are really into it. In America, soccer has never been a sport that received this much focus. I keep seeing questions posted here on Yahoo! Answers saying things like "You would you like to win the World Cup?" and "Who do you think will win the World Cup?" There is even a whole category on the subject on Y!A. Can someone explain the fascination to me?

1st in group C will face Mexico, and then possibly the winners of Germany-Sweden in the quarterfinal

2nd in group C will face Portugal, and then possibly the winners of England-Ecuador

I'd rather play England than Germany because England have been weak so far. Little width in the team and the team looks unbalanced. Plus the fact that Sven Eriksson is a liability as a coach.
