People talk about Crouch as if hes the worst player in history or something. Thats clearly not true.

Did people forget he had a hat trick right before the world cup?
Do people realize that grabbing and holding is part of headers?

Watch some other players go for headers, everyone uses arms and elbows to joustle for position and to protect oneself. Yes he did grab the hair, but if you watched, he clearly had his defender beat, the hold did not effect the outcome of the header.

What he does well is that defense tend to concentrate around him when england is crossing. how do you think michael owen got his hattrick against England in the friendly?

Not to mention he tries hard, hes done more than michael owen so far in the world cup, do you see anyone crying that michael owen is terrible?

Yes he had trouble in the EPL this year, but he has done well for his team, he has a great first touch, that has allowed his teammates to get free or get a great shot on the ball. The season before he scored 16 goals in 27 games with Southampton, thats pretty impressive considering the lack of quality on that team.

Give Crouch a break, if you want to question any calls by Sven, take a look at Walcott, he hasn't played a single game in the EPL, why is he even there? defoe or bent would have been far better choice for england.

I think he'a cheat. At 6' 7" tall he has certain advantages on high balls coming into the penalty box yet he almost never fails to grab the shirt or hair of the defenders guarding him. He scored a goal in the World Cup by grabbing the dread locks of a Trinidad & Tobago player.

He's ok as long as people don't ping the ball at his head at 100mph all the time. For a freaky lurch type bloke he's actually really good on the deck.
