Fields is okay, I guess, but the only thing that he has the advantage over in Crede, is his age. Crede isn't old! He's still in his twenties! Every stat (especially defensive ones) is better. Yes, Josh Fields played less, but his average is a lot worse. A lot! His average wouldn't likely be higher by playing more games. Crede was killing opposing pitchers the season before he got injured. He has gold glove and silver slugger caliber play. Josh Fields might have silver slugger, but definitely not gold glove. Would you like silver slugger and gold glove, or just a possible silver slugger? Come on, it's a no-brainer!

Do you think the Red Sox should put Jacoby Ellsbury in a posable deal just so they can get Johan Santana? I think it would be the wrong move to let him go...and he said "it's tough just knowing that I have no control over where I play or anything like that." he should be able to choose if he wants to stay here. does Jacoby want to stay in Boston? "Definitely. Definitely. Coming through the minor-league system, winning the World Series and with the team we have coming back, I want to be a part of that next year. I would love to come back but unfortunately I don't have any say, whatsoever, where I end up next year.

Does he have a legit chance to be a major league pitcher?
His slider and change up are weak and last season in the minors hitters averaged .306 against him and he only averaged 4.1 Ks per 9 innings.

Do you think he will one day play in the NFL?

There are plenty of suspicious stories and untruths from baseball over the past 150 years. Is there one myth that you hear that annoys you because you know it's not true?

I've got a few, but I'm curious if others feel the same way.

I'm wondering, what's the highest level of competitive ball people here have played?

I notice a lot of people try to downgrade others' knowledge of the game.

A lot of people here know stats, players, teams - but...

Who actually KNOWS the game from experience.

This isn't a p****ing contest, and isn't intended to be, just curiosity.

I played D-1 ball at the University of Rhode Island (1994-1995) before I tore by biceps tendon and was forced to give up the game for 2 years.

If you really follow baseball closely you start hearing about certain players that are; a value to the team, good in the club house, a team leader, good chemistry with other teammates, show up to play, plays hard, good attitude, plus many others. Are any of these intangibles relevant when it comes to baseball and putting together a winning team?

For my Fantasy Baseball draft 2008 I am thinking about taking Hanley Ramirez if I get the first overall pick. I REFUSE to take A-Rod because he's an arrogant jerk and I hate the Yankees. What are you thoughts on me picking Hanley Ramirez first?

I am a minor league baseball fan. Independent teams are turning up all over. I think it oversaturates the game. I regard independent baseball as bogus.

Essential Facts About the 1927 New York Yankees:

" Ruth and Gehrig’s combined 107 home runs were the most ever by a tandem of hitters on the same team. Their record would last until Roger Maris and Mickey Mantle combined for 115 round-trippers in 1961. "

Okay, I also know that Ruth/Gehrig have the CAREER record for combined home runs on the same team as well.

My question is, who holds the record for second place? In other words, what hitters on the same team combine for the career home run record AFTER Ruth/Gehrig? I don't think it's Mantle/Maris ... not for the career.

Anybody know? I've searched and searched but have yet to settle this.

Thanks!
