For my Fantasy Baseball draft 2008 I am thinking about taking Hanley Ramirez if I get the first overall pick. I REFUSE to take A-Rod because he's an arrogant jerk and I hate the Yankees. What are you thoughts on me picking Hanley Ramirez first?

Do not short change yourself like that; if you are going to let emotion come into your Fantasy play (which you should never do) then draft A-Rod and trade him for more value. Hanley will give you great numbers but not great enough to gift someone else in your league the best player in the league!

Thats stupid. You want the player that will give you the most points for you fantasy baseball team. Not taking the best player in the draft because you hate the Yankees and you think he's a jerk is very stupid. I hate the Yankees as well but he would be my number one pick. The guy bombs out home runs, drives in runs and hits .300! Hanley Rammirez doesn't hit as many home runs or drive in runs like Rodriguez. He's a basestealer!

I think Hanley Ramirez is an unbelievable ball player and the scary thing is that he is going to get better. However, He should not be your first pick. If you have the first pick you should go with A-Rod and the great thing about your desire to pick up Ramirez is that he could be around to pick up on your second pick. Depending on your league Ramirez could go as low as the 4th shortstop taken behind Rollins, Reyes, and Jeter. Play it smart and try to pick him up later in the draft.

Don't ever bet or play something like fantasy sports with your heart...always use your head or you will never win...I am not a fan of A-Rod either but if I had the first pick in a fantasy league you bet your a** I would pick A-Rod...his averages are just too good to bet that he won't have a year that will help you win your league.

Take Arod and trade him for Ramirez AND someone else.

Although, I think Arod actually had a career year last year and is more likely to repeat 2005/2006 than 2007.

Players just don't seem to understand the value of 'staying hungry'

Ramirez is still young, and what scares me is that he may go in a slump now that teams are learning to pitch to him.

I would pick A-Rod and trade him for Ramirez and someone else.

Your being stupid. Never EVER let personal emotions get in the way of fantasy teams. It's the fastest way to lose. Pick A-Rod. It's people like you I exploit by trading them players on their favorite team at an increased value, while I get the better player overall. You are what fantasy experts call a "fish in the water" to us sharks.

if you get first pick. A-rod is the go to. If not A-rod. I'd pick a Miguel Cabrera or Ryan Howard.
