I think that Johnson of the A's - to all Ortiz haters every time he has played the field it hasnt been that bad but why risk hurting the heart in soul of your team if you dont have to, remember in the world series the sox sat a gold glove first base man that hit 280 so ortiz could play

How come only 1 other person is saying Conor Jackson? When I saw this, I immediately thought of him. And this is coming from a diehard fan.... (who granted, wants the dbacks to release him)

Carlos Pena has the lowest fielding percentage and Range Factor in the American League but had a huge year offensively, the only close to his Range factor was Youklis but his fielding percentage was amazing! If you are asking for the worst fielding first baseman then I would say it has to be Pena in the AL. Connor Jackson in Arizona has the worst fielding percentage in the Majors though, his Range Factor is better than half in the league but fielding percentage is very poor! He takes it for the worst 1B in the majors right now!

I will have to say Dan Johnson on the Oakland A's. He was their starting first baseman and hit .236 with 53 runs scored and 62 RBI. He did have 18 homeruns but still not great numbers from a power position.

Ortiz - if he was good - he would play the field. But he does not, but still gets on the all-star ballot, taking away that spot from someone who deserves it.
