Do you think the Red Sox should put Jacoby Ellsbury in a posable deal just so they can get Johan Santana? I think it would be the wrong move to let him go...and he said "it's tough just knowing that I have no control over where I play or anything like that." he should be able to choose if he wants to stay here. does Jacoby want to stay in Boston? "Definitely. Definitely. Coming through the minor-league system, winning the World Series and with the team we have coming back, I want to be a part of that next year. I would love to come back but unfortunately I don't have any say, whatsoever, where I end up next year.

Dustin Pedroia. .357, .438 OBP, .643 SLG, 1 HR, 1 2B, 4RBI, 2 Runs Pedroia became only the second player to lead off the Series with a home run, when he took Jeff Francis out over the monster, setting the tone in game one. After that the Red Sox never looked back, pounding out 17 hits and set records for both runs scored and margin of victory in the World Series opener. Last night it was Jacoby Ellsbury and Pedroia sparked the Red Sox from the top of the order. Pedroia had three hits, including a bunt single that helped spark a six-run third against Josh Fogg. In the eigth, Pedroia had a very key two-run double to right that made it 9-5, and put the game out of reach from the Rockies. That's why I think it should be Pedroia, but Ellsbury has been great, too. Give it to the whole team!

Some people have stated that the package with Crisp and lester is more appealing to the Twins. NEWS UPDATE: For the first time since the winter meeting the Twins are again discussing the future of Santana with the Red Sox. Guess who they haven't talked about, Crisp and Lester, guess who they have, Ellsbury. If Johan's not going to be a twinkie next year, it is almost a guarantee that Ellsbury will.

Ellsbury should totally stay with the Red Sox. From what I have heard, the package options to the Twins include either Jacoby OR Lester. There is no package with both. And the package with Lester is apparently more interesting to the Twins. Odds are Jacoby will stay with the Sox. But in baseball, there are no guarantees.

i think the AZ Diamondbacks should consider getting Jacoby Ellsbury...why? Let's give the native americans, especially the Navajo Nation, something to root for. Jacoby Ellsbury is a true (50%) part Native American - Navajo

I'm a diehard Red Sox fan and I live in Minnesota. I can tell you right now, the Redsox won't make a deal with MN involving Santana. As for Ellsbury, I would fully expect to see him in CF next summer for the Red Sox. And for the next 10 years. He's not going anywhere.

Boston should definitely keep Ellsbury. Lester is expendable, but Ellsbury is a key part of the Red Sox future. He has defense, speed and a bat that can hit for avg....his power will come in due time. Boston is set right now on pitching and Santana while he is a great pitcher, isn't going to make or break Boston's chance at repeating as WS Champs. Bottom line: Keep Ellsbury!!!!

damned if you do, damned if you don't. santana's too expensive, in my opinion, but his presence in the sox rotation would pretty much guarantee another trip to the postseason and would make the sox the odds-on favorites to win the WS.
