I'm wondering, what's the highest level of competitive ball people here have played?

I notice a lot of people try to downgrade others' knowledge of the game.

A lot of people here know stats, players, teams - but...

Who actually KNOWS the game from experience.

This isn't a p****ing contest, and isn't intended to be, just curiosity.

I played D-1 ball at the University of Rhode Island (1994-1995) before I tore by biceps tendon and was forced to give up the game for 2 years.

I should've included softball in this question.

So, softball too.

I was a farmhand of the Dodgers 1993-1995; catching prospect, I made it to AA for five weeks before an injury halted my career. Injury could have been fixed but a long rehab and mounting bills made it a better decision to go to College instead!

I have learned long ago that it does not mean that I konw everything about baseball though!

The Yankees got me into baseball, so I'm most happy and can pay attention to them at ALL times. I can watch other MLB action, but I usually watch other American League games and some Mets games. Other than that, I watch the NCAA super regionals and the College World Series, but that's about it. I can't say I watch a lot of high school baseball or Little League baseball aside from the LL World Series.

I never made it past high school. I attended universities in Canada that didn't even have baseball teams, so it wasn't an option. Realistically, though, there's no way I could have played any college ball in the States. It didn't help living in a place where it was cold for a big chunk of the year, but I just didn't have the talent.

I shouldn't even be responding with people like "bdough15"
and his level of success, as well as others responding. I played high school baseball on a city championship team in Los Angeles. The really interesting thing about it doesn't even involve me. Our first baseman was Gail Goodrich who later went to play basketball at UCLA and was the star on that team which had two consecutive undefeated seasons. For those of you who don't know who he is, he later went on to be a star in the the NBA for the Lakers and Suns.

EDIT:
kbenson5: I currently live 5 minutes from the ECU campus in Ironwood.

I played for an independent league team in the midwest for 2 years after college. I left since the big leagues were not going to happen, and the money, well, it was not a lot at that level. I could not afford to anything playing at that level, so I left.
