Some state that if he had played the outfield during the four years he was a great pitcher in which some of his pitching records still stand today, he would have hit maybe 200 more home runs.

Do you think its kinda messed up that they would put it in the hall of fame anyways??? i Just think marc ecko needs to give the ball back for the sake of history maybe. It is a historic ball so it should be in the hall! But with an astericks is just humiliating for bonds. what do u ppl think?

What do you think that ceremony would be like with all the people there? That would be pretty interesting. Not everyone from Frisco could go there so I bet there would be some boo's. What do all of you think?

Oh and when I went to post this question, yahoo answers wanted to categorize it in the wrestling field! haha! Maybe because he's huge!

Who was the last player to play for both teams that went to the World Series in that same year?

For example, if a guy played for the Rockies and Red Sox this year, he'd be the answer. But it didn't happen in 2007.

I've never understood this.

The players have a skill that not many people posses, and it is in great demand.

I could understand if they were paid using tax money, or it somehow directly affected your life.

Does A-Rod asking for 30 million affect your day-to-day life? It makes absolutely no difference in my life.

If you were playing, and someone offered you 10 million, would you tell them, "No thanks, I love playing, I'll sign for 50,000."?

Place blame where it belongs - owners paying the salaries, and fans buying tickets/merchandise.

How much do movie and rock stars make per year? Do you get upset that Tom Cruise or Tom Hanks or Julia Roberts make over 20 million for ONE MOVIE?

I feel that the the baseball players today are ruining baseball as America's Pastime. They go on strike and refuse contracts to get more money, in the millions. But they're getting paid to play baseball, isn't that most people's dreams when they were younger? I would play baseball if I got paid 30,000 a year because I could live off of it, so why do the players today need millions? And the only reason players are becoming better is most likely because of steroid use! Is anyone else sick of this? I think teams should just stop dealing with these people and find new players who are greatful for doing what they love.

I have narrowed the worst MVP snubs ever down to 3: 2 times the same man was snubbed (Ted Williams.)

1942: Williams - .356 avg. / 36 HR / 137 RBI (Wins the Triple Crown.)
***Gets beat out by Yankee Joe Gordon - .322 / 18 / 103. The Yankees finish 9 games ahead of the Red Sox, and go on to lose the World Series 4-1 to the St. Louis Cardinals.

1947: Williams - .343 / 32 / 114 (Again winning the Triple Crown.)
***Gets beat out by Yankee Joe DiMaggio - .315 / 20 / 97. The Yankees finish 14 games ahead of the Red Sox and go on to beat the Brooklyn Dodgers 4-3 in the World Series.

1934: Lou Gehrig - .363 / 49 / 165 (Wins the Triple Crown and finishes 5th, yes FIFTH, in the MVP voting.)
***Mickey Cochrane wins the award with these numbers - ..320 / 2 / 76. The Tigers beat out the Yankees by 4 games to win the A.L. pennant with Cochrane as their player-coach. They go on to beat the Brooklyn Dodgers 4-3 in the World Series.

Which of these (or others) would you consider the worst?

if AROD fires his agent he wont have to pay him 15 mil a year for that 30 mil a year contract. That means teams only have to pay 15 MILLION DOLLARS A YEAR to sign agent-less AROD. Wouldnt you do that??? You save your team , fans and god forbid AROD i.e. yourself some money!!

DO IT AROD!

why does everyone talking about trading arod keep talking about third base. He is a shortstop. People keep saying that the red sox don't want to get rid of lowell. They don't have to . Just get rid of Julio Lugo and put arod at short. Arod is a shortstop. right?

Why is it that A-Rod is such a dominant player yet is taking so much crap on every sports show there is about having a losing attitude, being a "cancer", and how you cant win a championship with ARod? I hear some say, "look what happened in Texas, 3 years of great numbers, three years in last place" Was it ARods fault they were in last? Is it ARods fault that the yankees didnt win the world series? The yankees wouldnt have made the playoffs without him. I would LOVE to have ARod on my team (wont happen being a Reds fan... but anyways). How can a guy with his type of numbers keep a team from winning? i do not see the "bad attitude" that people talk about!

Does his statement finally prove that he honestly believes he's bigger than the game..........and the Hall of Fame? Your thoughts.

Those things at style, you have to admit. I know it's the "indie" thing to do now a days, but I wear one, and I'm a Yankee fan. When are they going to rub a little funk on Major League Baseball uniforms again? Are we going to see the Tampa Bay Rays tribute to the 70's Astros uniforms any time soon?

People advocate some off-the-wall Hall of Fame candidates in here (like Paul O'Neill and Chili Davis). Personally, I don't think either of them merits serious consideration, but if you think they belong, then wouldn't the guy with these stats also belong? (I'm rounding the up or down a small amount.)

2,700 hits
300 homeruns
1,450 rbi's
1,200 runs
500 doubles
.360 OBA

It's not tough to do a search and figure out who this is, but that's not the point. NO ONE considers this guy a Hall of Famer. If he's not, please explain how either O'Neill of Davis can be.

Thanks in advance for your thoughtful responses. :-)
