I hope I'm wearing a Boston hat with a Lowell t-shirt. If not, I'll call a friend, and ask,"Hey, have you heard anything about the Sox signing Lowell yet? I don't mean to be annoying, but you know how I just really want him to be resigned!" Then I'll shut my phone, and stare straight ahead and hum loudly :)

I think I would go over the finances of a regular person and compare it to his and see if he realizes (not just him, but all athletes) of the trickle down effect these huge salaries have.
If he won't listen, I go up onto the roof of the elevator and somehow cut the emergency brake.

I'd ask him why is he such a head case?
Did his father abandoning him when he was young made him such a needy person? Has to be loved by everyone, has to be the center of attention, has to make the most money. Why does he always choke at the most important moments of his so-called career?

I tell him to not come to the Detroit Tigers and tell him to go to the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. Then I tell him that he's not worth 350 million yet alone 200 million. Then I laugh at him because he will never make as much money as he did with the yankees.

Ask him for his autograph. What else would you do in that situation, tell him he has more money than God and wants more. Nah, not worth it, a simple signature will do. You know how much money that ball would be in 20 or 30 years!

I'd say, "geez, I can't believe the Yankees with that $997 trillion payroll could fall so far short of that dollar figure of yours, those cheap bastards!"
"Oh, Toledo is a nice town, too...I bet the rent is way cheap..."

I will tell him what he already knows "Yankees Fans Suck"
If I was humiliated by the Yankee Fans by all the booing, slammed by the NY Media and they all nailed it to me on how I can never be like Jeter....I will pack my bags and leave too.

I would tell him he was my favorite baseball player and ask for his autograph -when he gave it to me (assuming he did) i would rip it up and say sorry I thought you were Albert Pujols
