Who was the last player to play for both teams that went to the World Series in that same year?

For example, if a guy played for the Rockies and Red Sox this year, he'd be the answer. But it didn't happen in 2007.

Not giving a hint, but I will say that you don't have to go back any further than the 1990s.

Jim Bruske. He was part of the New York Yankees team that went to the World Series in 1998, previously in the same season he had played for the San Diego Padres, who the Yankees faced in the final.

Sorry, didn't read the question correctly the first time, and had to edit.

Got it.

He didn't play in the World Series that year, or even in the postseason at all. Played for two NL teams on the year, and finished the season with the AL team.

Serious footnote of a pitcher. Impressive lifetime W-L record though, as these things go.

Props, Craig, this is a sweet question.

This question has me completely stumped - well done Craig.

I'll do some research and see if I can come up with it.
