I don't hate him but I dis-like some of the things he does when he is playing (like throwing an elbow at Pedroia when he was popping up from a slide, swatting the ball out of Arroyo's glove, yelling "mine" when he was running behind Toronto's third baseman, and the list goes on) that are bush-league/classless...I just wish he would go out and play with some class...use the enormous amount of talent he has, play to win everyday, and be less arrogant while he's doing it.

Because he thinks he is the best baseball player today. Just by looking at his stats it makes him appear to be, but the reality is he STINKS. He is a guaranteed out EVERY single clutch at bat. Even this past season same thing, yea he had 54 homers and 130+ RBI's, but not one was when the Yankees were losing, and not one was needed. Every game the Yankees' won, when he hit a home run or had an RBI, if you subtract what he did, the Yankees would have still won those games. So what good is he, I'll tell you absolutely useless. So you have only an average 3rd baseman that doesn't help you at all all offensively and he wants $30 million a year.
I HATED the deal 4 years ago when I heard he was coming to the Yanks, and 4 years later I hate it even more. I've been a Yankees fan since around 1970, and if the Yankees go back on their word about not negotiating with him, I'll lose all respect for them. And I hope the curse of A Rod lasts 1,000 times longer then the curse of the Bambino was for the Red Sox, and I'll become a Mets fan and hope every WS is between the Mets and the Red Sox.

I started to hate him around the time when the Yankees and the Red Sox were playing in 2004 playoffs. Does anyone remember that ***** slap he made at the Bonson Arroyo glove to knock the ball loose??? That was the lowest I have seen a player act especially in the playoffs. He tried to cheat his way onto first base.
Also the fact that he is not a good clubhouse presence and his ego is so BIG.
I believe that he would be very happy if he can break all baseball records and never win a championship...
I have never heard him mention that winning a WS would make his career. His is a loser and I hope no one gives him the money he wants.
He is way overrated.
Does anyone really believe he is worth 3 times more then Mike Lowell of the Red Sox???
Lowell is a better defensive 3rd baseman and can actually hit in the postseason.. Just check out his MVP award...

I will tell you the exact moment that my hatred for A-Rod started. Before this moment I merely disliked him greatly. The moment occurred late in Game 6 of the 2004 ALCS when he swatted Bronson Arroyo glove and knocked the ball out of his hand. It was such a dirty/obvious play and disgusted me.
I completely understand that players will do anything to be safe, but you can't swat a ball out of another players glove and then expect to be called safe. Now come on.

I dont hate him. Why? Quite frankly I dont know him. But some things he does makes him sound cocky or a bit of a jerk. Like just blurting out to the media that pitchers fear A-Rod more then Jeter. Yes they do, but why would you completley disrespect a teammate or player like that?

ok i know he's greedy, but c'mon if he's the so called greatest player then why does he pad his stats during the regular season then doesn't show up for the playoffs, AND DON'T give ne that meaningless HR vs Cleveland in the 4th game.
since game 4 of the 2004 ALCS vs Boston what has he done in the playoffs, PRECISELY... NOTHING
NOTHING ... NOTHING !!!

I dont hate him.
In fact I love how he strikes out with the bases loaded, 2 outs, bottom of the 9th, yanks down by 3 in the post season.

Because he's a choker, too rich for words but he wants more money, and he was a Yankee, and he hates everyone else.

he is not a clutch player, he doesn't get it done in the postseason, he does not sacrifice an at bat to advance a runner, its all about him and i am glad he is gone...was pissed when the yanks traded for him in 2004.
