I recently bought a pack of baseball cards and checked their value online. I was wondering for rookie cards, if the player gets good (all-star, mvp, etc.) will his value increase or stay the same?

Who knows why they played the Midsummer Classic two times each summer in 1959, 1960, 1961, and 1962. Here's a hint:: The answer is not in Baseball Almanac or Wikipedia.

I've heard several people say that Matt Holliday got robbed of the MVP, I've also heard that Jimmy rightfully got the MVP Award...so i thought i'd get together the complete stats of these two players and looking at the facts, i want to know what you guys really think.......

~Jimmy Rollins-SS~
H-212
AB-716*
2B-38
3B-20
HR-30
RBI-94
SB-41**
AVG.-.296
OBP.-.344
SLG.-.531
E-11
G-162
Field- Citizens Bank Park

~Matt Holliday-LF~
H-216
AB-636
2B-50
3B-6
HR-36
SB-11
AVG-.319
OBP-.380
E-3
G-157
field- Coors Field***

*All time record
**More SB then Holliday has had in whole career combined
***most hitter friendly field in the major

So who deserved the MVP??? Keep in mind everything and not just offense but defense and how each player leads their team........Who would you have had picked for MVP??

Thanks,
~Phillies n' Rockies fan~

p.s. I personally think Jimmy deserved it.

I am a diehard angels fan. I am glad that they aqquired Hunter. IN my mind, this is the OF:
LF=GMJ
CF=HUNTER
RF=VLAD
DH=GA
but there is one little thing, the angels also have Regiie Willits, a speedy runnner who can hit .330 easily. what do they do with him?
Trade him?
Send him to AAA? If they do, that suks, I feel bad for him. he did all this work and is going back down
Also, do you think that the Angels can use hunter or willits as a bargain chip to trade for miguel cabrera?
Allla answers appreciated.

He'll obviously boost their defense in a big way, but does he bring that much offensively? His career OBP of .324 and slugging percentage of .469 are closer to a guy like Jacque Jones (.329 and .455) than they are to an elite player.

He's never ranked in the top 10 in any offensive category, has hit only more than 30 homers once, and has never scored or driven in more than 100 runs. I'm sure he'll help the team, but isn't $15m per for 6 years pretty extreme for someone with those numbers?

As a Sox fan I hope that the Sox dont give up too much, especially Jacoby Ellsbury.Lester would be sad to lose because of the whole cancer tragedy and Bucholz has some great talent. I really dont care much for Crips.

I just saw the thing on ESPN News. I looked it up online.

Sad, isn't it?

I'ven ever heard of him, but whenever someone dies, especially so young, it's sad.

I hope it wasn't because of drugs or something.

For me, it's to visit every ballpark in America, including Shea Stadium and Yankee Stadium before they're torn down next year. After that, it's to visit the Hall of Fame.

Do you have any goals related to being a baseball fan?
