I agree w/ No1nyyfan. I think Frank Thomas will get 1st crack at any DH spot that opens up. Sosa did knock in 92 runs in a shortened playing time year. I think Sosa is worth a .255 avg 25 HR and 85 RBIs. Certainly worth 2-3 mill for a fringe contender like the Blue Jays. It's possible he goes to a team like the Devil Rays who have used guys like Fred McGriff in the past. The Royals are a possibility as they are an up and coming team w/ a little money to spend now. Other than that I don't see many options for him because of Thomas who will hit .265 w/ 25 HR and 90 RBIs.

Long answer...The Giants have sucked for years because Barry had no protection since Moises left, was hurt, etc.Vlad could use some help behind him as well, though the Angels made a nice move getting Hunter.(Not worth $90 million, though) Perhaps the Angels should sign Sosa or Barry, with a low base salary and LOTS of incentives....(Ever notice how well Canseco played in Toronto when he was playing for incentive money?????)

I have mixed emotions on this one. Earlier, he was looking for a salary in the neighborhood of $7 million. Not much has been said lately --- no rumors --- nothing.

My guess is that if he does get any kind of a contract, it will be to DH with a non-contender and for 1 year at maybe $1.5 to $2 million.

Yes, but only if he lowers his contract demands. He can still hit 20-25 HR's with 60 RBI's. That's worth a few million dollars at least.

I can't say for sure, but as long as a team wants him, but he will denfily will not be back with the Chicago Cubs. So you can forget about that idea, if that it what you had in your head.

Yes, if he doesn't get greedy, and ask for an exhorbitant salary.

I'm not sure yet. I wouldn't want him though.
