They got lucky this year. It wont happen again anytime soon. They are on the downhill from here on out.

When people say, "Chemistry doesn't matter," they don't know baseball all that well. Here is a team larger than all of its parts. When you look up and down the lineup for the 2007 season, you don't see a team that stormed its way to a world championship. Look at the pitching staff and it looks like a contender, but compared to other pitching staffs, again, not an obvious WS winner. Yet they won their division decisively, won the division series easily, came back in the LCS the way great teams do, and won the series in a sweep. Talent, for sure, but talent enhanced with that balance of intangibles we call chemistry.

Because they're good. I predicted on a bet for their 2004 win, and won some cash along with an official jersey due to the fact that my brother thought that their four game win wouldn't happen. I knew they'd have an early win this season for some reason, and I was right. My brother didn't bet against me this time.

They jumped out of the gate and created a huge lead.
Even when they slumped, they still kept enough of the lead to win the AL East.

They destroyed the Angels in the first round.
They did get very lucky to win 3 in a row vs. the Indians, and utterly destroyed the Rockies in the world series.

They had a great offense despite a huge off year for Ramirez and their pitching was very solid.

They were the best team from start to finish....no luck involved...anyone who says that knows little about baseball...the Sox had great pitching (including an awesome bullpen), great defense, and a very good offense...I wouldn't count them out on pulling a repeat.

Their hearts are good and pure, which...

a) gives them the strength of ten, and

b) allows them to defeat evil no matter the odds.

Kinda like having The Force be with you.
