Does anyone know if a pitcher has ever been credited for a win without throwing a single pitch? The probable scenario, would be if a relief pitcher entered a game, with the score tied, probably the top half of the 9th, runners on base with 2 out. He picks off a baserunner, and in the bottom half of the 9th inning, his teams scores a run to win the game. As the last pitcher, he would then be credited as the winning pitcher......

Alright, this year, every one of my favorite teams has gone to the Championship game in thier sports and lost. My Ohio State Buckeyes went to the Basketball and Football Championships and lost both, my Bears went to Super Bowl XLI and lost, and my Cavaliers went to the NBA Finals and lost.

My favorite MLB team is the Indians, when they make it to the World Series, will they win it? Will they be the exception to all my teams?

Also, another question, how good would the Indians be doing without the suprise dominance of Fausto Carmona? The guys a stud, I still cant believe how good he is!

I have long suspected that Greg Maddux has the worst run support of any pitcher (currently active) with over 200 wins. I know that the stat is kept but I can't find it anywhere. Any suggestions?

What's wrong with the yankees?

They are up 7-0, with runners on first and 2nd, and Melky Cabrera bunts. People talk about sportsmanship in baseball, but how classy is that, to kick a team when their down. Those runs mean nothing, why bunt in that situation?

it's 10-0 now actually with a-rod's homerun.

I know that on strike 3, it is an out...but why not on strike 1 and strike 2? If the ball were to go in the air and the catcher caught it, it would be an out. But if it goes off the bat straight into the glove, it is not (unless on strike 3). How's this make sense?
