AL MVP: Hideki Okajima-sure he's a pitcher, but he's been very valuable to the Red Sox. But if you want a position player...
Vlad Guerrerro-Face it, the Angels would be nothing without him. He's the face of their franchise
NL MVP: Jose Reyes-when he's hot, the Mets win. Without him, the Mets would have no spark in their order.
AL ROY: Dustin Pedroia-even though he started out horrible, I always knew he would come out of it. He's hitting .319 with a .400 OBP. He went from batting 9th, to easily transitioning to the number 2 (and sometimes leadoff) spot
NL ROY: Hunter Pence-In 63 games, he's batting .341, with 11 homers and 41 RBIs. He's the future face of the Astros franchise
Comeback Player (AL): who's eligible? Is Gary Sheffield eligible? If he is, he gets my vote! He has contributed to so much to the Tigers team!
Comeback Player (NL): who's eligible?
Cy Young (AL): Josh Beckett, Justin Verlander, and CC Sabathia are all having great seasons. But we can't forget Johan Santana, who has 125 Ks to 30 BBs with an 2.75 ERA. However, Dan Haren is having a great season. He leads the league in ERA, is 3rd in innings pitched, and has basically gone under the radar because he plays for a team that basically goes under the radar (Oakland A's)
Cy Young (NL): Jake Peavy-sure you can make a case for Chris Young and Brad Penny, but his ERA is microscopic (although Young's is lower) but Peavy has better control- 34 BB to 125 K

AL MVP: Alex Rodriguez
NL MVP: Prince Fielder
- cant really disagree here
AL ROY: Dice-K (since hes eligible)
NL ROY: Ryan Braun
- Braun has the same amount of homers, 9 less rbis, 1 more sb, a lower average by .003, but a better obp and slugging percentage in 110 less abs. Pence has been great, but if you give Braun the same amount of abs, Brauns stats would be much more impressive.
Comeback Player (AL): Sammy Sosa
Comeback Player (NL): Brad Penny
- If somebody told me Sosa would have 14 homers and over 60 rbis before the all star break, I would have cracked up. Penny has become a force again. He was decent last year with 16 wins and a 4.33 era, but he 10-1 with a 2.39 era at the all star break. He could be in the cy young race too.
Cy Young (AL): Dan Haren
Cy Young (NL): Chris Young
- Gotta go with Haren for the 1st half. 10-3. 2.30 era and 1.00 whip. I love that you put Chris Young. Nobody ever recognizes this guy and hes even been (slightly) better than his teammate Peavy. I hope he has a dominant 2nd half too.

AL MVP - Hands down, Alex Rodriguez. Numbers wise, nobody comes close. He's the best player in the MLB
NL MVP - Everybody is saying Prince Fielder. The guy is hitting the ball well, but it seems as if Jose Reyes is helping his team in more ways. He scores runs, steals bases and hits for a better average than Fielder. Not to mention the defense...gotta go with Reyes.
AL ROY - It's gotta be Jeremy Guthrie. Yeah, Dice-K is good...but Guthrie is absolutely dominating, and he's proven he can do it against tough teams like the Yanks.
NL ROY - EVERYBODY is saying Pence and Braun. I have respect for both the guys and they're having great seasons...but I have to give this award to Josh Hamilton. He's got a crapload of outfield assists...a few SB, and a butt load of HR. What is it, 14 or 15? By season's end, I'm predicting he'll hit 28-32 HR. He's got pop...we saw it in spring training.
Comeback Player (AL) - Sammy Sosa...no need to explain this.
Comeback Player (NL) - Are rookies eligible for this award? If so, I'm going with Josh Hamilton again. He bounced back from 3 or 4 years away from baseball due to drug/alchohol problems and starts ripping the ball in spring training as well as the regular season. If rookies aren't eligible, then I honestly don't know who I'd go with...can't think of anybody.
CY Young (AL) - Could be the toughest decision here...could be Haren, Beckett or Sabathia. If I had to choose though, I'd go with Sabathia. He's leading the majors in wins right now, and I believe he'll have the most by the end of the year as well. He's playing for an excellent ballclub and he's getting run support. Not to mention he's pitching pretty damn well.
CY Young (NL) - It's nice to see you picked Chris Young...I'm a Padres fan. That's why I'm choosing Jake Peavy. He's young, dominant, and has the numbers to run away with this award. Although Penny and teammate Young are right on him. Penny has proven to be bad in the 2nd half of the year, and I'm not sure Young can be as consistent as we've seen. Peavy will have more strikeouts, and probably have the same number of wins. I think Peavy will have a better ERA too.
