Lugo, was a huge mistake. But you better believe that Matsuzaka is worth every penny of that $100 million.

Heck, compared to Zito, who was the other big name pitcher out there (signed with San Fran for $127 million) it was an awesome move. Zito is 6-8 with a 4.65 ERA and 63 K's. Matsuzaka is 10-5 with a 3.53 ERA and 119 K's.

Not to mention....imagine how small the Sox lead over the Yanks would be right now if Theo hadn't shelled out the cash, cause more than likely Daisuke would have ended up in New York if not Boston.

Far from it. Matsuzaka got WRECKED today lol. June's over for him though, no more sub-1.00 ERA's now that everything becomes serious in the second half of play. Lugo's not worth $32 mil either - just a pure joke in my mind.

Daisuke Matsuzaka is good and all, but I wouldn't of paid 100 million, at least at the time I was skeptic of how good he would pitch in the MLB. I mean anything could of went wrong and still could. As for Lugo, I don't know.

Im a Sox hatter and Yankee lover but at this point I would say YES! Dice-K has been awesome thus far. Lets see how he does the next few times around after the all-star break. I imagine he will get 18-20 wins this year and has every right to be called the "ace of the staff" along with Beckett.

with the asian pitcher only time will tell . He is having a subpar first half . Now Lugo has came along way from being just a defensive player to an average hitter . Is that worth 32 mil ? I dont think so !!!!!

GO YANKEES !!!!!!

He is a genius with Matsuzaka... he will make more than that back from the japenese fan base. Julio Lugo was a waste, I liked Gonzalez.

and how about $15 million a year for JD Drew. Ridiculous. I like the Sox, but they did some stupid things.
