As of today they're 9.5 out of the East, and 5.5 out of the WIld Card, not to mention they're on a 6 game winning streak, and won 9 out of 11.

After reading the article, I agree with the guy. Cleveland is a place full of losers. Their football team sucks, Their basketball team is choking in the NBA finals, Their Hockey team? Woah, they have a hockey team? Somebody pinch me. Cleveland sucks.

In my opinion, interleague play ruins the game. The only time an American league team and a National League team should meet is in the World series. Occassionally they should still have inter-city games (like Mets vs Yankees) but even that should only be 3 games a year, not six.
The mets got screwed this year because they are playing the Tigers (which they just lost 2 out of 3 to) The Twins, A's and Yankees 6 times. This could lead to us losing 2 or 3 crucial games in our division lead, which could really hurt at the end of the season.
Will they ever stop interleague play??? I'd also like to see my Mets go to San Francisco,Chicago and other cities more then once a year!

With ownership that won't let the team draft anything close to the best players to save money, even with high draft picks each year.... (This year we took the 5th rated Pitcher with the 4th overall pick!) Even though they probably get like 25 million each year from the Yankees for revenue sharing...
And with well more than a decade of loosing... Is there anything Baseball fans can do in Pittsburgh to get a major-league team playing here again?

Like if a runner is on first, and a batter hits the ball and passes the runner, the batter is the one that is out for passing the runner, right? I can't remember which one should be out.

This weekend when my World Champion New York Mets came to Detroit, I went down to Comerica Park to cheer for them. It was so much fun and so exciting. I wore my Mets shirt and loudly cheered for my team. The looser Tiger fans looked at me like I was nuts. I didn't care I was so excited to be able to go to one of my teams games. Has anyone ever done this? Watch your favorite team on the road?? Did you have as much fun as I did??

This rule just seems so random. The only purpose I can think of for this rule is it makes the pitcher be more careful with his two-strike junk in the dirt.

Also, has anyone ever seen a batter intentionally swing at a very wild third strike so they could run to first?

SInce I feel interleague play is a crock, could we change the divisions to look like this?

Division 1: Red Sox, Yankees, Mets, Orioles, Nationals
Division 2: Blue Jays, Phillies, Pirates, Indians, Reds
Division 3: Braves, Marlins, Devil Rays, Rangers, Astros
Division 4: Twins, Brewers, Cubs, White Sox, Tigers
Division 5: Rockies, Diamondbacks, Royals, Cardinals, Mariners
Division 6: Padres, Angels, Dodgers, Giants, A's

The teams could then play unbalanced schedules and be able to work it so that they could play most all of there games in their half of the country.

Except for the Division 5, where the teams are a big splotch in three time zones, I think the basics of getting everyone in their best geography is taken care of here.

Before you go howling about the DH...it would go bye bye, with each team adding a roster spot to appease the Players Union, for 26 man rosters (probably another stinking relief pitcher...LOL

Your thoughts and comments, please

What role do you think favoritism of big market teams (yankees, bosox, mets) plays in putting the best/most deserving players? For instance the current batting leader in average, doubles, and 2nd in RBI's Magglio Ordonez is 7th in the allstar voting in Right Field.

Do you like that the winner of the All-star game gets to have home field advantage, or do you think its a gimmick?

Where do you rank the MLB all-star game among the major sports? What changes would you, the fans, like to make to it?
