Mantle, Mays, Aaron, Spahn, Snider, Killebrew, Aparicio, Williams, Banks, Maris, Mazeroski made quite a splash at the very end of the season, Clemente, Berra, Kuenn, Mathews, Skowron, Colavito, Frank Robinson, Burdette, Koufax, Drysdale, and while he's not well-remembered today, Dick Groat won the NL MVP Award that season (Maris got the AL MVP).
Marichal and Gibson played in 1960 but neither had become a big name yet.

Mickey Mantle, Willie Mays, Ted Williams (his last year--he hit a HR in his last at-bat, too), Hank Aaron, Rocky Colavito, Whitey Ford, Sandy Koufax, Bob Gibson, and this list could go on and on. These are just some of the best guys, let alone the regular ones. . . .

The only one i can think of at the moment is Ernie Banks of the chicago cubs hit 512 hr in his career.
