Are you serious??? First .... Second Rate?? ok thats pushing it a little to far , Baseball Is the YANKEES...its most known world wide .. You mention baseball and no matter whom or what its about , the person can be sure to answer with " Oh i've heard of the yankees" regardless if they are baseball fans or not... Second Rate... ? the amount of money they spend is NOT because they dont MAKE IT , they surely do ... with a stadium seating nearly over 55.000 fans.. each game nearly sold out .. you average out thats about 100.00 per fan , how much money is that each game ? also... the yankees as i mentioned prior are , world wide known , you dont see BOSTON hats on most actors or rappers ... exp.. only... You see The Yankee Symbol .. money in allows money out.. Second rate for a team thats shown history all in itself from just the team of players ... .second rate , ? I dont think so .. drop to you're knees and thank MLB for the team THE NEW YORK YANKEES... Thats baseball my friend Over and Out!!!

26 world titles ,in the playoffs every year since 94 and climbung back this year. Second rate huh? I guess. See I live in this world called reality. Even if I didnt like the yankees you have to acknowledge there a beast and a team to be reckoned with. No one wants to see us on there schedule. Last time I looked baseball was a business. We do what we have to. Also look at all the farm guys we have rolling this year. No one jumps on the redsox,mets ,dodgers,giants etc. We wont make moves your right,you guys can have the pennant. Cmon dude.

Ah... 26 rings. Sounds like my phone before I broke down and got voicemail. How many of those 26 rings do you own? Of how many were you even alive to witness? Were you around for the 22 of them before 1996?? Didn't think so.
Look - the Yankees just beat the worthless Pirates, and the worst hitting team in baseball (along with the worst bullpen) White Sox. Now you should beat those teams. Most do. But what happens when you start playing decent teams again (like your next two series?).
Then we will know how good you really are.

What Steinbrenner does is gives the Yankees and thier fans every chance to win....EVERY YEAR. And its not money that does it, if that were the case, the Red Sux, Mets, Orioles and Dodgers would be winning every year, check thier payrolls buddy. Its a great farm system, the right coaches AND paying big names. Jeter, Soriano, Posada and Pettite are just a few names that came up through the system.
That aint second rate by no means.

I don't particularly like the Yankee's, but this question is a joke right? Second-rate?
Even a die-hard BoSox fan could not refute the fact that the Yankee's epitomize a first-rate baseball organization.

Coming on the heels of a 9 year run of finishing first and a 12 year run of making the playoffs, it's a pretty hard sell to claim the Yankees are "second rate".
