K-Rod has already established himself as a top tier closer. Broxton recently stepped into the closer role for a short time (with Saito injured) and got the save in his only opportunity. However, Broxton has allowed a number of runs in his previous few innings. I believe that Broxton will do well as the closer in the future, but K-Rod will be better overall. The Angels are also probably the better team.

Wow.
It's easy to tell that you're a Dodger fan (or an Angels hater) just for bringing up these questions. Maybe you're looking for some ammunition against Dodger fans; you won't get it here though.
Jon Broxton's a talent, no doubt. But he has yet to even step into the role the Dodgers have been grooming him for, so let's wait before we start comparing him to an ace closer like K-Rod. K-Rod's averaged 30+ saves the last few seasons and was nails in the world series one year.
As for the Angels/Dodgers debate, you have to know the Angels are the better team. Their pitching staffs are both heralded as close to the best in their respective leagues. The Angels have an offense however, and the Dodgers don't.

I am a huge Dodger fan but in this case K-Rod is your man. K-Rod is in the elite group of top closers while Broxton is a fill-in for Saito until he returns. Both teams have a shot at the play-offs with the edge to the Angles. The Dodgers can get it done with pitching but so can the Angles with Lackey, Escobar, Santana, and Colon (when he is healthy) and the Angles have a much better offensive team.

K-Rod is the better closer, a few runs do slip by him, but not 5 runs in the 9th by Broxton to blow a save against the Padres last week.
The Angels are better than the Dodgers right now. Angels pitching is definately better. The Angels swept during the last interleague play. In a few days, we'll see what happens at Chavez Ravine...

well its an obvious choice to me in K rod.
just because fools like funston keep insisting that broxton should start over saito ..doesn' t make broxton a good closer..fact of the matter is JB couldn't take the throne away from the 37 year old saito..so that speaks for itself. JB's a bust waiting to happen
