Ichiro probably has the largest fan club in all of professional sports. His star power generates a huge audience and has created television deals for the Mariners in Japan and other lucrative deals that range in the hundreds of millions. He has generated alone millions of extra tickets sold for the Mariners from Japanese coming to Seattle . He usually breaks all records in all star ballots and seems to be the most fun player to watch in all of baseball do to his ability to out run infield hits and throwing people out in the outfield. His position on the team as a leadoff hitter doesn't always generate as many wins as a Barry Bonds and his position in the outfield might not be as important as an infielders job when generating wins, but shouldn't the player that generates the highest profits for the team all year be given the highest contract? If the Rockets generate hundreds of millions from Asian countries on Mou Ying, should they pay him the most based on generating more profits.

if the player with the most hits in baseball pete rose also know as charle hustle is not in the hall for a crime against baseball. this should be a crime agaist all baseball fans. if they dont like him fine. if they dont want him in baseball fine. but to say he is not going in the hall of fame is an show of force by baseball millionaires. so all baseball players out there play nice all of your life and maybe, if you are luck if they like you to get in.broke babe ruth record, mvp of 3 world series to bad we found out about this or that.

it is what it is pete great player hall of fame, bad personal jugdements probable not a great person. are we electing the player or the person to the hall?

Let go of Bernie Williams. He is one of the last connections to the great teams of the late Yankees. He still wants to play. At least let hime retire as a Yankee

*A nicely framed and matted lithogragh by Norman Rockwell.
*Signed by Brooks Robinson- his name and "16 Gold Gloves"
*The lithograph itself is 14 x 20 in.
*It's the picture with Brooks Robinson in it- one of the only players he ever painted-a lithograph of: http://store.nrm.org/browse.cfm/4,1072.h...
At the bottom it says:"gee, thanks brooks!"

After Nathan, Rincon, Reyes, Crain, Neshek, Guerrier, I figure there is MAYBE only one open spot in the pen to be fought over by Perkins, Choate, Venafro, and any starters who don't make thr rotation. Will any of these guys catch on in the pen?
They probably don't wanna go w/ just one lefty again...

With Mauer, Redmond, Morneau, Castillo, Bartlett, Punto, Hunter, White, Cuddyer, Cirillo, and Ford pretty much inked in there, who'll be the rest of the offense? I figure 3 more guys will make it from a group of Kubel, Tyner, L. Rod, Rabe, LeCroy, Harvey, Casilla...

It was interesting to see fat Matt back after his disaster in Washington. He was a good DH a few years ago, does he have a chance at this point to be our DH next year?

I would guess Silva, Garza, Bonser, and Ortiz. There are also Ponson, Baker, Perkins, or maybe even Guerrier or even Durbin. Lmk what you think, throw more names in the mix if you can think of any!

Of course I understand baseball is a business. What I don't believe DBacks management understands is that keeping your customers (fans) happy keeps a business healthy. This franchise has a LOT of unhappy customers. The only games I will consider attending this season are Dodgers games. So I can scream myself hoarse for Gonzo.
As for Randy Johnson, his character is the antithesis of Gonzo. Rude, aloof, charges for autographs; stories of his dismissing adoring kids are everywhere. And a YANKEE? As if he didn't have a Yankee attitude beFORE he became one. UGH! Please share your thoughts.
